As a few of you know I upgraded to Windows 10 a few years ago, which made my Sims 2 games keep crashing and I was frustrated.

Well, after trying everything in the book to get it running again and posting various threads here asking for help only to achieve no results, I resorted to asking my cousin, a computer expert, for help. He said he had a Windows 7 disk to reset my laptop back to Windows 7. I agreed to that, not minding that it would wipe all of my recent documents and downloads off, as I can easily replace them.

So now that my laptop is Windows 7 again, I have installed the original Sims 2 and a few of the expansion packs, then I tested it and it worked properly and it didn't crash when I went into create a family mode. I've got to install the rest of the expansion packs later today because it's too long-winded and repetitive to do all at once. So now I'm happy. Easiest solution ever, without needing to download stuff from the internet like patches and things to get it going on Windows 10.

Ha - Windows 10 hasn't defeated me this time.

All I had to do to get it to work was right click and press "run as administrator"
It would crash once in a while but was mostly fine.

That didn't work for me.
