Monkey Island series for me.

What about you?

I'm talking purposely funny, not some meme moments in Halo or WoW or something?

Garry's mod is a given, Bitardia seems good for a game based on memes. (But thats not exactly what I'm asking)

So?

Some of the funniest games I've played:

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Earthbound

The Animal Crossing games

Miitopia

Tomadachi Life

I loved Conker's Bad Fur Day. It was in many ways a typical 3D platformer, but atypically for the time was linear and driven more by its narrative and writing instead of being a collectathon across worlds connected by a hub. But its writing was the game's main highlight, with a lot of humor, much of it crass. All voice acted, which was very unusual especially on a cartridge at the time.

Other than that, Portal 2. The game is full of jokes from start to finish.

Those are the only two games I know of that I'd say are funny. Others have moments of humor or absurdity but not the sort that would make me laugh, as opposed to just striking me as silly or cute or making me chuckle. Games such as Psychonauts, Full Throttle, Earthbound or Katamari Damacy for example. I find a lot of humor in videogames to be not that great though - games like Borderlands or Duke Nukem are often lauded for their humor but for me they would be a lot better if they didn't try to be funny.

The LucasArts games probably own the monopoly on funniest video games: "The Secret of Monkey Island", "Sam & Max Hit the Road", "Day of the Tentacle"...there's no way you can make a list of greatest comedy games without those.

More classic series: "Legend of Kyrandia", "Simon the Sorcerer", "Discworld", "Space Quest" (especially number four)...I never found "Leisure Suit Larry" all that funny, but each game has some decent chuckles.

Old standalones: "Callahan's Crosstime Saloon", "Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist", "Flight of the Amazon Queen", "Zork: Grand Inquisitor" and "Toonstruck".

New games: "Thimbleweed Park", "Paradigm", "Hector: Badge of Carnage", "Ben There, Dan That"/"Time Gentlemen, Please!", "The Darkside Detective" and the "Deponia" and "Book of Unwritten Tales" series.

And yes, they're all adventure games.

I was going to say Conker's Bad Fur Day

House of the Dead: Overkill. I love the trashy 70's exploitation B movie humor. Especially the level set in the "Pink Pussycat" strip club. Subtle, right?

I also thought some of the Beavis & Butthead games were funny as well as the Daria one. The Daria game & some of the B&B 1s were made for computer. I think Windows 98 but I played em on XP & Win 7 using the windows compatibility wizard. I'm not sure if those games can be counted here since they were based on funny TV shows. I guess if those games can be listed others can list games like Family Guy, Rick & Morty, & South Park

Reading this & watching some of the clip makes me think of the game Lollipop Chainsaw. She's a cheerleader zombie hunter who kills zombies with her chainsaw of corse & she also carries around the severed head of her boyfriend which is somehow still alive. She kept him from becoming a zombie. She's voiced by Tara Strong. I don't have that game but should get it one day. Here's a vid of someone playing it & it might be the whole game. I'm not gonna watch the whole thing but I just moved it to random parts for a few seconds

West of Loathing is pretty hilarious.

Dude, Stop is a pretty funny game if you enjoy messing things up.
