The Long Dark
Does anyone here play this game? I just got this as a small treat to myself for winning a scientific paper writing competition, after watching Paulsoaresjr play this game for years.
If you don't know much about The Long Dark, it's a sandbox survival game -- a little bit like Minecraft, which many people here play (including myself, on occasion), but much tougher and more focused on survival on a fictional island, Great Bear, located somewhere in the Northwest Territories, in winter, after a large solar storm has knocked out electricity to most of the area, leaving it deserted.
Warning! This game can be very scary at times! Even I, someone who doesn't get scared very easily, got a jumpscare when I got charged by a wolf and just barely had time to light a flare and scare him off (especially when you don't know the hotkey for flares!) Do keep in mind, wolves and bears don't attack people in reality.
So far I've survived 2 days and 22 hours in Mystery Lake.
What are your experiences with The Long Dark, or am I the only one here who's interested in this type of game?
