  • 1 situp
  • run 5 steps without falling down

..Harumph.... ....*AHEM*.....

I hereby attest to the fact that I can and have performed the above workout in one hour or less. I will submit to ANY blood test to prove my non-steroid enhanced impressiveness (as long as you pay for said test, as well as travel expenses, accommodations, meals, incidentals, fees, time away from work, legalese, legalese, legalese, et cetera, and so forth, and other boring words, and for a million dollars, etc,........ )

And I challenge YOU to do the above workout YOURSELF!! !

I hereby declare that any male that can complete the above workout as listed may forever after declare himself a HE-MAN, and any female declare herself a SHE-GODDESS. (or, whichever of the two aforementioned titles that you yourself prefer to wear).

Things you need to know about midget ninjas:

If you're just starting out in martial arts, I believe
they start you out fighting midget ninjas, so I hope
this proves useful for you.

It's time for a power nap now. I'll check the Bust It! Aspie Mote Board Dojo later,
to make sure nobody is hurt or expired.

There's a first aid kit in here somewhere, I believe near the throwing axe.

ok, ok.

I got the ol' stationary exercise bike out of the garage, dusted it down and put it on my front porch behind the lattice. I drag myself out of bed 15 minutes earlier than usual 5:15 rather than 5:30 and pump away ( it has the handle bars that pump too) for 3 minutes yesterday and 5 minutes today, looking for 7 minutes tomorrow, or just might stay with the 5 minutes until I get my second wind and pump it up to 7 minutes.

then I hit the showers and go to work. Please don't laugh or belittle the progress that is from NOT DOING IT AT ALL. ( I know you won't, Chuck, but others might see this as laughable)

Um, you're really serious about this, right? (It's not that you've had a half-dozen triple expressos in an hour?)

If so, I wanna be able to do a crunch without it hurting. I don't care how long it takes, I just want it to not hurt. My "disabled" kid can do 30 of 'em, if she feels like it, and pointed that out last night. I'm annoyed.

Laughable???!? Merle, I Luvs ya! :D :D :D

Good for you! Just go nice and slow, don't get hurt, and treat yourself for being so good to yourself! :D

The staying at 5 minutes thing is a good idea. It's always smart to "stagger up". For instance, when you do go up to 7 minutes, the next couple of days drop back down to 5, then go to 6, then to 7, then drop back to 6, then go to 7 a couple of days, drop to 6 again, then go to 7, then 8, drop back down to 6... This will help prevent injuries. The long slow safe way always comes out ahead of the fast, injured, start over way. :)

(I think that's the advice Confucius gave to the Sumo wrestlers).

I'm proud of you Merle! But always have been!
Chuck

Also, since you are working out first thing in the morning, drink at least one cup of water prior to exercising to thin the blood. You become dehydrated just breathing while sleeping. Thick blood plus exercise = heart attack. 8O

OUCH! :(

I'm going to post a couple of pages of a naked training partner named "Jen" who has transparent skin so you can see her muscles. :) What I need to know is where the exercise is hurting you. Then we can make adjustments and set you on your way! :)

Usually crunches hurt people on the butt. If so, put your outstretched hands palms to floor under your butt as you crunch. If it hurts your low back, make sure to round your back, not arch it. If your neck feels strain, see warning in the second illustration. Sometimes switching from feet up crunches to feet on floor crunches helps, or vice versa.

But it could be scar tissue, etc.

I know lots of other stomach exercises if crunches just don't work for you. We'll fix it! :)

Yay Nan! Glad you're exercising! Just because Aspies are supposed to be geeks doesn't mean we can't be buff geeks! :D

Did you ride your bike today? What part of your legs were injured? Are you fully healed now?
