Does anyone know how to play Scrabble with a friend online, using a laptop? (Ideally for free?)

I've heard there are some phone apps for Scrabble, but I hate using my phone and I can't see well on it.

I don't have a tablet.

I've never played a game online in my life so I have no idea how to figure this out. All my searches have failed.

I'm sure it must exist somehow?

I just checked steam and there is a scrabble game on that platform for 10$.

https://store.steampowered.com/about/

Be sure you download the correct version whether it be PC or mac.

Just a heads up, the scrabble game on steam is single player and it has mixed reviews.

Thank you for the info! I'll check it out. I thought I read somewhere on steam that you can play with up to three friends?

I use Mac btw.

It's listed as single player and remote play. Not entirely sure.

Not sure about the details but isn’t “words with friends” pretty much the same as scrabble?

I've never heard of "Words with Friends" but I'll check it out.

Thanks to everyone who replied! I forgot to check for your responses.

It's board is slightly different, especially the triple letter near the triple words along the edge making it a lot easier to score words over 100 points. The official dictionary is also different, I think it includes many more words than scrabble does.

There is also power ups which you can earn through in game or be purchased via micro transactions. The power ups, particularly the one where you can exchange your letters without losing your turn practically ruins the otherwise great game.
