Mine was Hamtaro: Ham Ham Heart Break on the Gameboy when I was around 4 years old. Barely understood what I was doing but I had fun playing as a hamster and running around rolling into trees (or other hamsters).

I also remember doing the same with Spyro; flew around and using my powers on sheep.

Checkers, or possibly whatever the first Master System game we had was.

Donkey Kong was the first game I've ever played which was on a coin-up at a local grocery store when I was about 6 years old in 1982.

The first game I ever saw on a home system was probably Pssst on the ZX Spectrum at my uncle's not long after I knew Donkey Kong. Since then I was obsessed and I still am in maybe a mutated version of my childobsession.

First game I owned myself was Manic Miner on the speccy. First game I bought myself was Space Invaders on the same computer.

Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap or After Burner.
I don't recall when I got Dynamite Düx.

My dad played Hang On a lot.

The first video game I ever played was either The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past or Link's Awakening. I was probably around 3 years old.

My earliest memory of a game is Super Mario Bros on the NES. Perhaps there were others, I think the cartridge also had Tetris on it, but my first one I can think of is Mario. A first game I played well, that is with any higher thought at all, might be another question.

I have vague memories of playing an Atari game console that my cousins may have had or borrowed or owned in the mid 1970's?

I don't remember. Probably either the Pitfall or Earthworm Jim game my mom had on her computer. The first one I got into was Zoo Tycoon.

I miss Zoo Tycoon. I used to have my zoos full of tigers and lions.

I don't know, I was only 18 months. We had an Atari 2600.
The first game I remember playing I'm pretty sure was Adventure.

My son's first game was Test Drive 2 on the SNES =)
He prefers a thumbstick, though. I let him play Super Mario 64 and he just ran in circles for a while and kept pressing the C buttons.
I let him play with my Atari Flashback Portable, too. He likes Centipede and Missile Command, because they make lots of noises.
