"Genesis does what Nintendon't".

This was one of Sega's advertisements back in the 90s.

Does your SNES have Blast Processing?? Didn't think so.

Did your SNES keep selling you attachments until it started to resemble the Megazord?

Power Base Converter, CD, 32X.

Sega of America wanted everyone to think Nintendo was for babies while their games were edgy and full of attitude, so it's not surprising they came up with that slogan and nearly every one of their ads made fun of Nintendo. But then Sega's consoles after the Genesis all flopped and they ended up becoming one of Nintendo's most popular third-party game companies. Go figure.

I heard in a video the other day Sonic Adventure 2 wasn't just the last licensed Sonic game made for a Sega console (and the first licensed game made for a Nintendo console), the Sonic franchise almost died along with it.

I had a genesis and preferred it for the most part.
Later I had to buy a SNES and street fighter 2 cos it was such a definitive version.
Genesis had this buck Rogers SciFi RPG game which was better than anything on the SNES. So I'm still a Sega fanboy.

I like Populous better on the SNES.
In fact, I like the SNES port better than the PC version.

It's been a while since I played the Genesis version, but I remember not liking it as much.

SNES SimCity is pretty cool, it was actually the first SNES game I ever saw. It has slightly more meat than the original PC game, and some really nice music. There's a sequel on the N64 too, but it was for the Disk Drive, so you'll need a fan translation patch if you want to play it in English. Apparently someone just unearthed a prototype of the SimCopter game that was supposed to go with it.

If it isn't the Amiga version you're doing something wrong.

This YouTube channel

has awesome developer diary style videos about Genesis coding tricks for some of the well known games. Really neat stuff.
