Anybody else run into video games that are either bad or just unremarkable but that have great music? I always hate to see perfectly good songs get squandered by being stuck in mediocre games so I thought I'd start a thread where we give them some love.

Rule of Rose is a good example of a mediocre game with great music.

I always liked this theme from that game:

Yakuza Dead Souls was a game that flopped but the music was still pretty badass.

Mystic Quest had great music in general. Final Fantasy always has great music imo even if it ends up getting ignored in less-played games.

This one critically panned fighting game called Dark Rift had awesome battle music for each character. Here were some of my favorites:

Zenmuron

Scarlet

Niiki

Oh gosh, yes, Mystic Quest has an amazing soundtrack. The whole thing is just so awesome, I couldn't pick a favorite.

The arranged tracks on the OST are really great, too.

One track, the final battle theme from Little Nemo the dreammaster stands out

They're underwhelming now but I remember Shadowgate (NES), Dragon Warrior 1 (NES), and Faxanadu (NES) had some pretty epic scores.

You can find good music in some weird places. I'm still trying to locate some good late 70s music that I heard in - yes, you're reading this correctly - a porn movie.

"The Woods and The Goddess" from Deadly Premonition. Didn't care much for the game but I could listen to this forever.

I actually love The Elder Scrolls games but for some weird reason everybody now hates the company Bethesda that made these games...

Anyways an awesome epic redoing of the theme song from Morrowind. Even the title of the song "A Land of War and Poetry" is giving me goosebumps. :)

The entire soundtrack to this game was brilliant if you like dirty 70s funk. It came on a second disk that you could play in a normal CD player. So I did. Far more than I ever played the game.
