The Get Gud Crowd, The Elitely Skilled, The Gatekeepers who try to keep people like me from having fun with video games. I've been using cheat codes for more than 20 years and I still get hate messages from these people. When a company decides to add an option for causal and disabled players to enjoy their games whether or not said games have a Souls-like difficulty, suddenly these Get Gudders are ready to march off to war to stop us from playing them.

When one is skilled at something they usually prefer to compete against others similarity skilled people and not against people they view as cheaters.

I play single player and this is about incredibly difficult single player games being made more accessible to casual and disabled players.

Then just cheat your heart out, but why shouldn't people act like that's a lesser version of playing the game?

These people got upset over a Forza game adding sign language for deaf players. They sent a woman threats because she advocated for a pause feature for people with situational inconveniences while playing Elden Ring. A Dragon Age game is getting a no death addition and these people are frothing mad.

Many Mega Man legacy collections have something like a Rookie mode, Casual assist, or Buster Max for new players wanting to get into the X, Zero, ZX, and Battle Network series. I use them and I get screamed at because I'm not playing them as they were intended to be played.

Just watch the video to get an idea that Get Gudders are a bunch of *****.

Interesting video. I guess there are lots of people out there who won’t realise that adding easier options to games directly benefits disabled players. I didn’t really think about it myself until I watched the video. I’m a casual gamer so have always been fine with easy options in games anyway.

Sad that you got rude messages when using easier modes. I know online gaming can be toxic and people will use pretty much any excuse to be rude.

Would this involve games of high and quick dexterity? Fighting, driving, and sports games are the most difficult for me. I also have a really hard time with Grand theft Auto

Sometimes one needs to make peace with a task being beyond their abilities. DCS (for example) shouldn't be dumbed down just because I can't play it, because flying a fighter plane in combat is a difficult task. Making the game more accessible can't come at the cost of ruining the simulation experience.

Something like Ace Combat or War Thunder probably can be made more accessible because they're not sims, but some genres really shouldn't concern themselves with accessibility.
