For me, that's a tricky one. Probably the Biolizard from Sonic Adventure 2. Inferno in Soul Calibur II is very tricky as well, as well as Giga Bowser in Smash Bros. Melee. That shark guy in Viewtiful Joe is also very tricky.

It depends. Most bosses are easy with practice. However, the various sidequest monsters of the FF series are hard, particularly Weapons from FFVII, Ozma from FFIX. Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts II.

Hmm.

I'd have to say that alot of FF bosses are hard at first, if you don't have high character levels. MGS3 also has hard bosses, to my experience.

The End is hard.

The two hardest I can remember are:

Benoit from Silent Bomber (awesome, sadly under-rated game) was very hard, but lots of fun.
On extreme difficulty, every single boss in Lost Planet is a pain, but the very first boss may well be the hardest boss I've ever fought.

Bonus nostalgia boss- the last bosses of Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles were tough when I was a kid, although in retrospect they weren't really that hard.

I would have to say an old vet
who spent far too much time
seeking (and getting) political
appointments. I'm a fairly
tough character, but this old
man had me mostly cowed.

Ditto that.

The first time through Zelda: OoT I remember having a tough time with Bongo-Bongo. But that might have been more due to the fact that it's hard to concentrate when the boss bears a strong resemblance to a... chinese mushroom.

On the whole, I don't think that RPG bosses are as difficult as the bosses from some other types of games. I had a tough time with many bosses in the Castlevania series.

The End is not hard, per se. However, I found him pretty much impossible to beat on Hard mode. Normal mode, I can beat him. Hard mode, I can barely find the bugger, even when I use the map trick. And those darts hurt...

No boss can defeat me! I AM THE GAMING GOD!! !! !

Seriously though I thought that Culex as a hidden boss on Super Mario RPG was hard as hell, although it was mostly because I was obsessed with that timed attack thing when you can keep doing that jumping move to hit him and his diamonds. If I diddn't kill at least one of those diamond things I would restart the whole fight. That and I would have to say that. Anyhow I would say that the other hardest boss out there would have had to be...Mr Big from NARC. Not the Xbox version the original Arcade style one.

If you do the boss battle mode (or whatever they called it) in MGS2 at top difficulty as Snake, beating Solidus can take a while. Not getting the sword is just annoying.

Most incarnations of 9-ball in the Armored Core games have gone beyond "difficult", and would be classed better as "obscene" (with the exception of 9-Ball in 'Nexus').

Also, the boss challenges in Metal Gear: Ghost Babel are a complete sod.

Rathalos, Rathian, Diablos, Monoblos and Gravios in 'Monster Hunter' are nigh on impossible, assuming you play offline like I do.

Those are all that I can think of at this moment.

Giga Bowser and Crazy Hand from Super Smash Bros. Melee

Culex from Super Mario RPG

Tartarus from Halo 2

Dr. No and Xenia from Goldeneye: Rogue Agent

343 Guilty Spark from Halo

Gyork from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Ganon from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Andross from Star Fox Adventures

I can't think of any others at this time.

I forgot to put that in my list. I mean, you take massive amounts of damage every time you want to hit him and he always bites you just as you are trying to surface.

The bosses in Twilight Princess are pretty easy. I remember finding Vaati in Minish Cap very tricky but then Minish Cap was the first Zelda game I bought. He's tough in Four Swords though.

Oh, and recent Mario games have some of the easiest final boss battles ever. Super Mario Sunshine's final boss battle is easy, even though the level to get to it is frustrating (especially the boat). And in New Super Mario Bros. you can beat the final boss battle in the game easily just by walking over them with a Mega Mushroom.

Sephiroph from KH:II is easy once you figure him out.
