My favourite is the DS version because you can easily have 8 player races, and apart from snaking, it's a brilliant game. But as debate is always healthy I'm going to start a poll.

So, which IS the best version of Mario Kart? (By the way, Mario Kart Wii doesn't count as it's not out yet).

I like MK 64 the best, although Super Mario Kart was very good.

I love Double Dash. Of course, it's the only version that I have now. I tried playing 64 again after I got DD, but it seemed so lame after playing the new one.

Super mario kart. Maybe because I was at just the right age, but I got a lot of hours out of this game.

Impossible for me to tell which one was the best.

I have not played the 1st one.

Mario Kart 64 was my 1st mario kart game, and my 1st N64 game. Very fun, but seems now inferior when compared to the later games.

Super circuit was ok. Again, the later games are better.

Double Dash was pretty good. When playing with my friends, we'd always have heated tournaments, or we'd battle with the bombs for hours.

Sadly, I lost my DS game, but it is quite awesome with its online play. Makes me feel good about my game-playing skills when I beat people from Japan :P

Sure, it's weird to rant about Mario Kart, but then again, this falls in my "special interest." I'm sure you all understand :)

Yeah. I mastered that game. Ain't nobody who can beat me.

I still have my Gamecube even though I also have a Wii. It means me and my brother can play two gamecube games at the same time.

I haven't played the original, but I've raced on it's tracks on Super Circuit. My only problem with the original is that the tracks are too short. Although the Special Cup tracks are very challenging, especially Ghost Valley 3 and Ranibow Road.

I think that adding stunts into Mario Kart Wii is just what the series needs to refresh it's gameplay slightly, not twin seater karts.

Super Mario Kart, perfection.

Mario Kart DS gets close though.

I mastered Bowser in Super Mario Kart...

I have only played Super, 64, and a little bit of DD, but Super beats the heck out of those other two.

My favorite was the oringinal Super Mario Kart. The tracks were challenging and the gameplay was alsome. I especially like the choice of items on the game.
