Sonic has been confirmed to be in Super Smash Bros Brawl!

Sonic is one of the cheesiest characters in the games industry. The games are dead cause they suck since they went 3D so now he's just starring in minigame things. Now they somehow smuggled his blue behind into Brawl.

He's going to be my new "punching bag".

Ok, this shocks me. During the prime years of Melee, everybody on my Gamewinners forums (including myself) wanted Sonic on so badly. Now that they finally got their wish, everyone seems to hate him! I can't imagine why. I'm glad Sonic is finally in the game, and he seems like a character that fits my style of play. Besides, even if he has had many bad games in the recent past, I think he is a great fit for Brawl. I don't see the reason for complaining. He certainly fits better than the Ice Climbers in my opinion.

And while we're on the subject, check out smashbros.com. It seems the release date (according to that site) is being moved from December 3rd! My sources confirm that the game has been delayed until January 24th in Japan. If it is truely delayed in the US, I would expect Brawl sometime in the realm of February.

maybe because i'm a part of the old(er) guard with gaming but i think this is amazing. sonic vs mario....face to face. as much of a nintendo nerd as i am....sonic still kicks ass. actually, sonic was the only reason why i originally got my sega. to get sonic and x-men.....and that's all i ever got for it...i had like...4 1/2 games. sonic 2, 3, sonic & knuckles, sonic spinball, and x-men.

I did actually mention this in the Smash Bros. thread before this topic was started but oh well.


I can't post the video now but I can assure you that it's a good video. Sites like IGN should have the video you need. It's probably on Youtube as well but I don't know.

A lot of plattform game series started to suck after they went 3D. Some examples include Earthworm Jim and Super Mario (there's no f*cking way Super Mario Sunshine can compete with Super Mario World).

On topic: It's nice that Nintendo starts using figures from other franchises besides their own in the Super Smash Bros games. I've always wanted to see a fight between Mario and Sonic.

Sonic is pretty awesome, but if they include Geno, it'll be worth waiting until February 10 (new release date; no one's mentioned yet ).

I nearly dropped dead when I saw the update on Smash Bros. Dojo. I've always thought Sonic and all his games (except maybe Spinball) were lame.

Hear, hear. My friend and I decided that we'd find the most anti-Sonic character in the game and just practice until we could beat, without any troubles, all the people who just had to have him in the game.



I was under the impression that it was going to be a simultaneous (or near) release. I mean, Melee had the option to change the language. I assume that all it would be is a matter of changing the default language.

I am merely bemused. I don't hate Sonic, I just haven't played a Sonic game for years. I was more excited by Solid Snake being a playable character.

Though those of you who regularly check the dojo know this, the new release date is Ferruary 10th.

what's up with the sonic haters? they were pretty much the best sega games back in the day along with altered beast and golden ax.

I agree. I don't hate Sonic, and I like the idea of him being in Brawl. I don't own a Wii and never will, so I'll never play it. Oh well.

Bah, everyone at Court-Records (and I) thinks Phoenix Wright should have been put in the game.
