I know this has been on before, but it's been about 3 months since the last poll, created by TheAPERSON.

Basically, the rules for this poll are as such:

*Only numbered Final Fantasy games are included. You want spin-offs, include them with the main game (FFVII: Crisis Core or Dirge of Cerberus, FFX-2).

*Consider the latest version of the game before voting (ie, the GBA, PSP and DS versions of FF 1-6).

*List your reasons for preferring that game above others, if possible.

*Standard numbering for the games applies. ie, FFII, as released on the SNES in America, and FFIII, as released for the SNES in America, will count as FFIV and FFVI respectively.

I noted that in the last thread, Final Fantasy VI and VII were tied, or at least close.

I've left FF Tactics out as we in Australia don't have it, although I'm not sure whether we got the remake for the PSP. We certainly got the GBA version.

QUATERMASS do yourself a favor and pick FFT up on PSP it's a really, fun and addictive game and its a semi-decent port with a few nice extra's :)

OMG I forgot to give my reason's though for FF6 so I will

I like FF6 the best because it was 1st FF I had ever played which I think which had a lot to do with it.

My first real big FF experience and it felt wonderful not to mention had some really awesome graphics for a SNES game at the time I had gotten it

Characters it has like I think 14 characters they were all so great in there own way and they are all are so diverse not many FF games have as many characters let alone a single character as good as some of them in that game.

It' has my favorite villain kefka who destroys the world pretty much and it has realy probably the best music in a FF game and IT was on the snes its just so much was put into the game its unbelievable for its time.

I played FF4 after I beat ff6 and had some fun but to me FF6 was the best FFgame on the SNES by far :)

FF7 was amazing too though, it improved on FF6 in a lot of ways its a very tough match between those two I think though I like FF6 cuz it feels more homely for me more characters an such the world felt more alive for me, plus it was my first experience so I'll never play anything like it again with the same suprising feel.

Don't have a PSP. I have a PS2, a GBA and a Gamecube.

I agree about Kefka being the best actual villain of the FF series overall. He's my favourite villain of the FF series. Besides Sephiroth, I thought the best villain of the FF series after these two was Cid from FFXII. While he wasn't the main villain, he was a certified nutjob, wonderfully OTT. Always talking to himself (or rather, Venat).

I've now got some comparison, and I think FFVI is not just my favourite FF game, but also one of my top favourite games.

Thanks for starting this poll up again Quatermass. Makes it easier than having to fish for it in the depths of the forum.

To me it's a dead tie between FF1 and FF7.

I voted FF7 though because I recall liking that one more. If Tactics was one of the choices I would have voted that since it's one of my favorite games of all time.

FFVI is the best for me, a classic but nothing that followed can even come close. Others in the series that I've enjoyed playing are FFIV, FFVII and FFIX. FFX would count too if I had finished it. :P

So, four votes for Final Fantasy VI, and a vote apiece for Final Fantasies VII, IX and X.

I like FF7 the best. It was the one that got me into the series when I got it for my 12th birthday just a month after it came out. I think it has the second best music in the series, behind FF6, by far the best story, the best atmosphere (tied with FF6), and solid gameplay, too. My only real complaint is that it is too easy and there is little difference between the characters when it comes to fighting style. FF6 is probably my second favorite with FF4 and FF5 close behind, although it's really tough. FF8 was good, FF9 was sort of bleh for me, and FF10 was just plain awful in my opinion. I couldn't stand the voice acting or just about anything else about the game. I never even bothered to try FF12... I guess I've kind of grown out of it. I still replay FF6 or FF7 every now and then, once every couple of years, for old times sake :)

I am currently playing FF3j on the DS. It's fun, but it's far too simplistic to rival FF6 or FF7.

Agreed with you mate. I played my friends copy of FFIII and although it's good, it doesn't quite match FFVI. Also, I'm more used to playing RPG's in 2D so I'm not quite used to a 3D world yet. But still, next FF game I'm getting will be FFIV so I'll probably get used to that, since it has a ATB battle system like VI.

Yeah, but it is a spin off not directly related to the series, so I'm not counting it.

You've made it very obvious what you favourite is. I'm probably not going to be able to play X though.
