I've been looking for a good adventure game for a while, but I can't seem to find many of them.

Games I've played:

All the King's Quest games, except KQ VIII (the KQ games are one of my aspie obsessions)
Leisure Suit Larry 1, 5, 6 and 7
All the Quest for Glory Games except QFG II
Grim Fandango
All the Curse of Monkey Island Games
Secret Files: Tunguska
All the Gabriel Knight games
Conquest of the Longbow
Under a killing Moon
The 3 first Broken Sword games
The longest Journey
Sanitarium
The Daggers of Amon Ra

Does anyone know of any good adventure games? I prefer 3. person adventure games rather than 1. person adventure games. I also prefer adventure games about mysteries or fantasy

An old platform/RPG game called Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It's one of the few I've played that don't suck. However, it's not very challenging, but it's still fun.

I also like playing Prince of Persia (the first two for PC or Mac; there's even an SNES version), but you have to get used to the style of playing it. There are some other sequels on PS2 as well. They're fun too, but play a little differently.

If you liked Prince of Persia, there's also Blackthorne and Flashback for SNES.

And you should also try the Legend of Zelda series, particularly Zelda 64, since you didn't mention it on your list. It's a classic.

There's a really old isometric game for SNES called Equinox. It's kind of hard though, and you have to solve some puzzles, so I'm not sure if you'll like it.

Try out "Dreamfall - The longest journey" :)
oh wait, you did :D

"Indigo Prophecy" then :) it's quite entertaining. you get to play different characters throughout the game to solve a murder mystery. you get to be both the chaser, and the chased. it feels like a movie :)

I've heard that Morrowind is good (a very detailed game! lol). I also recommend Myst and Donkey Kong (on 64; it's a little kiddish but it's pretty fun). Zelda is awesome but it's already been mentioned! lol Halo is pretty cool; I haven't played the adventure portion of it but from what I heard it's actually pretty cool.

All the stuff I mention is freeware, so use google to find them.

Joe DeFoe- series (5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Sceptic, Trilby's Notes, 6 Days a Sacrifice and new spinn-off Trilby's Art of Thievery) is a freeware high quality horror themed adventure series. You have to play them in the order told before to get the story. Gives lots of thrills and good scares, but be warned, each of them (except Trilby's Art of Thievery) contains lots of bad language, blood, gore and occultism. But if you aren't offended by these, you got a great time waiting for you!

Sam & Max Season 1 - Abe Lincoln Must Die!
Good ol' Sam & Max: Hit the Road kicked some a** back in the day, and so do the new games of the franchische. They are "episode games" that are published in - erm - episodes that last a few hours. To promote season 2, the creators gave one of the old episodes, Abe Lincoln Must Die in free distribution. If strange humour and mocking of American politics is your thing, you'll love this piece of art. If it isn't, give it a try anyway!

Enclosure
Some horror adventuring again. This time, in 16bit graphics! It doesn't stop this claustorphobic search for spirit of an vengeful eskimo from being pretty creepy at times! There are irritating sudden deads and the game is rather short, but it serves well as a snack while looking for something better. Be advised, blood and gore ahead again!

A Flight for the Amazon Queen
Game with humour, adventuring in the amazon jungle and an evil German genius. Perfect. Set in the Amazon jungle, player gets to solve puzzles, talk to rather interesting characters, read cheesy comic books and have a existentialistic conversation with a gorilla. And that's only for starters. This is a looong game, so you'll be having lots of stuff to do.

Beneath a Steel Sky
A sci-fi adventure, where you play as a young adopted man of a wastelander tribe. When armed men come andtake you away from your new family and kill your tribe, you start to solve your past and find out the truth about your real parents. Some puzzles are quite a headache, but you'll get over them! This one's a long thing too, so the adventure doesn't end too quickly.

Here's some traditional point and click games for you. Have fun :)

Going from the games you've mentioned, I'm assuming you mean adventure games of the point-and-click variety.

Full Throttle is a fantastic game. It's very funny, though a little on the short side. It's set in the modern world. It was designed by the same guy who did Grim Fandango and the platformer game Psychonauts.

The Dig is also excellent. It's more serious, more dramatic in its storyline, and has sci-fi elements. Orson Scott Card, the author of the Ender's Game series of books, wrote the dialogue.

The Longest Journey has a sequel called Dreamfall. The developer is going to be releasing more games in this series in episodic installments in the near future.

I have heard that the Monkey Island games are excellent, though I've never played them.

Discworld is supposed to be good.

The Myst series is famous and was well-received at release. I've always thought it was a load of turd, however.

An English patch for Policenauts, considered to be one of the best games in the genre is coming out soon. You'll need an emulator such as ePSXe to run it.

The Nintendo DS has some point and click adventures too. The best out of these would be the Phoenix Wright series of games. There is also Hotel Dusk and Trace Memory, though I can't comment on their quality having not played them.

The Wii has a game called Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure. It's probably one of the more recent games of this genre to be released commercially, and with critical acclaim.

The Zelda and Metroid series' are some of the two best adventure series' I've seen. If you want an adventure game with challenging puzzles, get Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. If you have a Gamecube, Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 Echoes are brilliant games.

You, sir, have good taste! XD

First I gotta recommend Psychonauts. It's a bit of an platformer action game but also borrows a lot from those old LucasArts graphic adventures, and I THINK it was from the creator of Grim Fandango. Excellent game, was critically acclaimed but didn't sell too well.

And have you played the "Oddworld" games? Not exactly adventure, but the first two--Abe's Oddysee and Abe’s Exoddus--have heavy puzzle-solving elements, and very good, with a great sense of humor and creative art direction. They're sidescrollers, though.

I also second Indigo Prophecy, Dreamfall, and Sam & Max: Season 1. Check those out, though again, be prepared for a few action-based gameplay elements in each. (Indigo Prophecy has more simon says-type minigames than actual puzzles, but it's still a good adventure game.)

For another good point-and-click game, try The Neverhood. I'll warn you that some people find the puzzles frustrating, but they just require a bit of patience. Some people, however, actually enjoy this game. It's hard to find now though. It's for PC, but you may be able to find a PSX version for it, but it's in Japanese. Thankfully, there isn't much besides the story that you really need to understand to play it.

Isn't that a good sign for a game?

The game is indeed very hard to find, but a slightly downgraded version can be downloaded (legally) for free at Home of the Underdogs.

I, for one, found the game to be rather wretched. Great style, great sense of humor...but having to slowly walk across 38 screens just to pick up one friggin' object, then slowly walk BACK through them, was simply a horrible choice.

Indigo Prophecy and Dreamfall doesn't work with an Intell graphics card, unfortunately. I've played through both Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus twice, both are great games. :)

If you play the PSX version, those 38 rooms were apparently cut out.

Yep. I can agree to that, I love that game to death.
