well this is all over the net i'm sure but i think i have found an answer.

ps3 dispite that i don't even own one.

the reason is after denying it over and over i finally accepted the fact that my wii went belly up after just a few days, in other words i want to junk the damn thing and get back my 200 some. i would probably sell it if super smash bros brawl [it's last light before the abyss] should be coming out sometime and it looks good.

also lego star wars, the only game i have for it that reguires no motion whatsoever and the only good one own.

the reason i am loathing this thing right now is because of the motion controls which are so damn hard for me it's rediculus, either i have to many things to do at once or i can never hold the remote straight or something. during the times i see about five commands on the screen i try and do them all at once which ends with me failing or dieing.

i should have saved for a ps3 but i'm a spender and i basicly got cleaned out for christmas my account is basicly bone dry after my parents took out 75 bucks to pay off parts of other gifts. how the hell will i correct this mistake now.

but anyway i say ps3 will be better.

Xbox 360 isn't an option?

I'm surprised the Wii went belly-up. Out of the three next-gen consoles, it was meant to be the most reliable.

Is it lack of games or something? Frustration at the Wiimote?

no i got like 6 or so games more like lack of good games. yes the remote is beyond frustrating, i'm not even close to being able to use it right.

i'd rather smash buttons all day.

If the problem is the Wiimote-then you're probably never going to be satisfied with it, unless you can learn to use it. It does take practice. Of the other two, despite not having many games worth the price the PS3 is the more stable platform. The Xbox 360 has something like a 35% failure rate where the console overheats and turns in to a paperweight. They have upgraded their replacement policy, but who wants to wait while you mail a crapped out console back to the manufacturer and have then mail you a replacement? The downside to the PS3 is the cost, mostly because of Sony's insistence on the Blu-Ray DVD format (anybody remember the Betamax??). IF you decide on the PS3 and you want to play PS2 games on it, make SURE you check which version of their console you're buying. ONE of them will ONLY play PS3 games, no backward compatibility at all. Personally, I like the Wii. It makes me more active, and it gets my kids on their feet and MOVING, rather than just spraining their thumbs. To each his own.....

yep the wiimote is nearly the whole problem, and when you get a game where you have to point it at the screen the whole time without moving or it spins the camara like a top [i got two like this] you find that an hour is the most you can play [or well i can play] before your arm hurts.

i usually sit with the controller resting on whatever i'm sitting on.

but yep i'll never be happy with it unless more games like lego star wars rise, but from now on i'm avoiding anything with motion controls like it's the plague [not saying it isn't]

nintendo is going to have to do something different to catch my attention again.

till then ps2 still is the best.

I have both a Wii and an Xbox 360, and I think they both have their own purposes while PS3 is a spinoff of the PC.

yeah i also think that harddrives are for computers and mp3 players also, but it's the closest thing to my ps3 and a system i can get used to fast. [all in theory though]

but i'm not replacing my ps2 because i couldn't play kh fm+ without it. nor could i hack anything anymore.

i'm just looking for something familiar.

Of those three, I've only played a Wii so I'm not qualified to judge. You must have something seriously wrong with you if you haven't got the hang of motion controls. I got the hang of them straight away. You just have to be adaptable.

I'm pretty sure this debate was on here before...

i know i must then because can't get any of the commands right for mario and sonic at the oylimpics, i'm not to bad at metroid prime 3 but when i got to a boss that constantly changed form forcing me to change from one battle style to the next every 5 seconds i kept forgetting what to do, then the acid rain came down and killed me in seconds and i was still realing from the constant battle style change.

transfomers has both controls handling the attacks but the remote as controled the camara which on instinct i always swung ending up with the camara spinning around the bot and then the sensor bar would lose track of the remote, argh! i use this one just to run around destroying things now.

button mashing is just so much simpler for me, but i'm probably not one to jugde either i'm just frusterated with having to cheat my way through cause i can't work the controls or the boss gets me on edge because i can't remember that fast.

I would say that the Wii is by far the best if you are a casual gamer and/or hard for cash. The PS3 has the most potential and will probably have the best library of games when it's all said and done, although the Wii will be close. Personally, I am not a fan of the Xbox or the 360 at all. I really believe that if it weren't for Halo, no one would have bought an Xbox, and I don't think Halo is that great anyway. Plus, seriously every person I know who bought a 360 has had to send it in to be replaced. Very unreliable.

I have a PS3, but I would love a Wii. I guess I didn't help you at all, but I don't think you can go wrong with either system. Both will provide years of amazing gaming.

yeah maybe i just need some games i can play on it, odd thing is when i go from playing my wii then go to my ps2 i have no problem remembering the controls, but if i go from gamecube to ps2 i have to remember the buttons in order to play right.

Personally I think Super Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess are worth owning a Wii for. And of course Brawl when it comes out. But a lot of the third party games on the Wii are pretty bad, especially multiplatform games with horrible graphics(Yes they'd need to tone them down from the PS3/360 versions, but often times they overdo it below the Wii's capabilities) and tacked on motion controls they didn't think about properly before implementing. Its also getting store shelves flooded with crappy budget games that are only being released on the Wii for a quick buck off a larger userbase, much like the PS2 had last generation. But I will always buy Nintendo consoles first and foremost for Nintendo's games, and for me, they do not disappoint. I also own a 360, and play it more(Or, I would, if I actually had it right now, sent it in to MS from the dreaded Red Ring of Death), but I would never ditch my Wii even if I only buy a couple games on it a year, they are usually truly fantastic games to me.

As far as the PS3 goes. I'm hoping to win one through a contest at work for having perfect attendance through the christmas season, and I'd play a couple games on it like Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank, but it doesn't have nearly enough games that are system sellers to me. And I don't particularly care about Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII coming eventually, never was a big fan of either series. Its just not worth the $500 to me.

If you really don't like your Wii that much though, you could easily get your money back(And likely more) selling it on Ebay. Might have gotten more prior to Christmas, but its still really hard to find regardless of christmas shopping or not.
