I picked up my Tetris DS game to help take my mind off things and I was playing the marathon mode which is like the original game where the blocks start falling faster and faster the better you do and somehow I managed to get to level 13 where they were falling insanely fast and that was where I was overwhelmed and defeated. I'm pretty sure that's the best I've done on Tetris EVER and I've been playing it since the original games for the NES and spinach gameboy. The only downside with the DS one is it doesn't have the Kremlin and all those weird things the better you do at the end...
I heard a rumor that in the old one for the NES it goes up to like level 20 or something and if you beat that you basically beat the game, but back when I used to play the NES the best I ever did was probably level 8 or 9. To be fair, I was just a little kid then, though. I've never known anyone who could beat the game.
So, what is the best you've ever done on Tetris?
