Of the original Mega Man series for the NES (Mega Man 1-6), which one do you like the best? Also, feel free to express your opinions about this series.

I like Mega Man 2 the best, because it's the easiest. The only difficult part of MM2 is defeating the wall cannons in the 4th segment of Dr. Wily's castle.

Megaman 1 was brutally hard. I remember just barely beating Dr. Wily as a kid and having the game freeze on me as soon as I landed the final hit. Last time I tried it I couldn't even beat the first stage.

Megaman 2 was fun, though the difficulty was uneven. The gear weapon was way overpowered and the disappearing blocks part of heatman's stage was incredibly hard unless you beat the bosses out-of-sequence.

I hate those disappearing/reappearing blocks. And I agree that Mega Man 1 is the most difficult. Plus there's no password option, but it's unique because it's the only one with a score counter.

My favorite was Mega Man 4, probably because it was the first one I ever played. It has something for me that none of the others do. I do like all the others though.

I loved mega man V the most because of the good level design and varied bosses. Personal favorite: Gravity Man :o

Mega Man 2 was great but Flash Man's stage ruined it for me, I had a very difficult time ever beating those stupid walls that were also used in one of Dr. Willey's stages where they were even harder! :x

my usual order for mega man 2 is airman -> crashman -> flashman so i have crashman's weapon in flashman's stage to handle the wall

Megaman 1 is hard, but I love Megaman the Wily Wars for Sega Genesis since it lets me use it on Sega Genesis :D

8 is pretty awesome too, actually.

edit: sorry, i misread, i thought you just meant the classic series.

I love megaman V the gravity man level is awesome.
I hated Quick Man's level (I cant remember the game right now) where you had to dash very fast or you would get killed

3 was my favorite for a while, probably cause it was the first one i remember beating (i was in kindergarten). and since you had to beat all the bosses, then the bosses from Mega Man 2, then get through Wiley's fortress i felt a pretty good sense of accomplishment.

big picture though 2 is probably my favorite. in my opinion it's the perfect Mega Man game. my favorite part? the music. the first six Mega Man games had some classic music in them, but 2 is probably the best. i can play Flash Man Stage on my guitar and it sounds so bad ass when you really crank it.

3 beats out 2 for me just because the slide was that awesome and was so much of an improvement on the game in terms of the user's ability to dodge attacks.

now you could stand a change to pretty much beat the entire game with just your regular buster.

Mega Man 3 is my favorite. It's first Mega Man game I've ever played. It has really cool music for a NES game.

lets not forget Rush. Though 4 was what did it for me. Introduction of the charged megabuster is what made it great

true but a lot of rush's functions were present in the previous games.

and yes, the megabuster in megaman 4 was awesome....though i think they perfected it with 6.

and 4 was really freaking hard to beat!! !
