This is a game that a forum member mentioned to me in Second Life. I forget what his forum name is but I thought some of the other folks here might be interested. It's a ragdoll physics fighting game. Instead of pre-programmed moves to choose from you create them as you go. It's turn-based. After each turn a set number of frames passes. You control your character by adjusting the way each individual joint behaves. All of the joints can hold and relax. Most extend and contract but some have alternate settings to that e.g. bend left and bend right. It's free but you do have to sign up if you want to try multiplayer. My name there is Malachi.

Have any of you tried this before? What do you think of it?

Seems interesting, they have a very active forum: "Currently Active Users: 222 (96 members and 126 guests)"

I will download it and post my opinion on the game afterwards.

When you try it out, if you go into options, setting mouse buttons to "2" will make it a bit easier. That enables you to use the left mouse button for one setting, scrollwheel for the other. There are also advanced types of rendering you can enable. It is probably not a good idea, in the case of this game, to pass on the tutorial and it may even be worthwhile to look at some of the user-made tuts on youtube to learn the mechanics a bit better.

I had a little go and went through a bit of the tutorial. I think it is going to take some practice and I might need to redo the tutorial but at least it's different, I'll give it that.

In single player, try this to knock your opponent's head off.

Step 1:

Press C to make all of the joints hold.

Step 2:

Raise both shoulders. Contract both pecs. Extend your abs. Press spacebar twice.

Step 3:

Click each hand once to make them grab. Lower both shoulders. Extend both glutes. Contract both hips. Bend both knees. Press spacebar four times.

The dummy's head will come clean off. This won't work well in multiplayer because your opponent is going to be moving and trying to anticipate your actions. Rules often vary a bit in multiplayer. In most of the games you can be disqualified if anything other than a foot or hand touches the ground. In some games it's harder to break off limbs or you play in a small ring with any step outside also counting as a disqualification. The distance between you and your opponent at the start varies depending on the game and in some cases you each have a weapon. The replay menu has a list of some of the replays experienced toribashers have made but the majority of them are in single player simply because there are less variables for it making it easier to plan out a video.

Sounds like Rag Doll Kung Fu. I'll give it a try.

I have not played rag doll kung fu but I did just watch some of the videos. It seems a bit less involved than toribash but a little more graphically intensive.
