It can be a console from any generation. Just tell everyone what your favorite console is and why.

My favorite is actually the Playstation 3. I've owned a lot of game consoles in the past and have mostly been a Sony fan, and out of all their consoles the PS3 has been the most fun and useful for me. The PS3 doesn't seem to tear up as easily as the PS2 does and it has a lot of exclusive games that I really like such as the Uncharted and Yakuza series. Also the PS3 is the only game console that I actually use the extra features for, and I enjoy going online and downloading stuff for my system such as games and themes.

I would have to agree, at the minute. In the past, I loved nintendo so much more than the other consoles, and the gamecube was my favourite. I loved the wii because it was so unique, but nowadays there isn't any good games for nintendo consoles, while the PS3 is still bringing out games I'd like to play. For instance, I'm excited about Borderlands 2 coming out soon :D

I have to give credit to both the DS and gameboy advance, which I overused when I was younger.

I've had too many consoles over the years, but here are my personal top 10 favorites of the ones I've owned: (not counting handhelds)
10. ColecoVision
9. Sony Playstation
8. Sega Dreamcast
7. Nintendo Wii
6. Sega Genesis
5. XBox 360
4. Playstation 2
3. Nintendo 64
2. NES
1. Super NES

It was a tough choice deciding between NES and SNES. I had far more games for the NES and played it for a longer time, but the quality of the SNES games felt far more satisfying. Maybe it was because I was older and could recognize good games better, but I also have a lot of good memories playing games with my friends on the SNES, so that has to count for something.

Tie between the NES and the SNES. I like platformers the best, and there are so many great ones for these two systems. (Mario world, Mario 1,2,and 3, the donkey kong series etc.).

Really, the NES wins this hands down for me. The SNES and GBA come close, though.

I have a tough time choosing between the ps1 and the ps2. A ton of classics were released on both those systems, and I can't decide whether I miss the 5th or 6th gen more. The ps3 is awesome too, but I wouldn't exactly call it my favorite system of all time. There are some exclusives that I like, such as the Uncharteds, and there are even some I like a lot, like Folklore, but I can think of way more games from the ps1 and ps2 that let an impression on me. Sure, the ps3 does have some ps1 and ps2 classics available for download, so there's that, too, but I give the credit to the systems those games were originally released on.

PlayStation. The first one.

My first console was actually a Sega Genesis (here in Brazil we call it by its original japanese name, Mega Drive), but the cartridges were expensive and were becoming increasing rare, which means I only had about 20 games (inclusing a 6 in 1 and a 7 in 1 cartridge).

The PlayStation, on the other hand, had cheap CDs (bootlegged; taxes in Brazil are ridiculously unfair to video games), which led to a library of over 120 games. It was fun while it lasted (actually, I still have it, but broadband internet made it much less appealing).

Nowadays I have a Wii, but I am not as addicted to video games as I was before. I usually go through a few weeks or months without playing it until I decide to play one of the games I have for a few weeks.

I'd say the Wii. Love motion controls(at least when they work well), and although the library isn't large, the few really great games there are are far better than any of the mediocre stuff I've had to sift through on the 360. That, and it's backwards compatible with the Gamecube, and then there's the Virtual Console with a lot of great games(though it's missing the good N64 ones Rareware made).

Does the PC count? Most of my favorite all time video games were/are on the pc, Heroes of Might and Magic, Doom, Half Life, Warcraft, I could go on and on. Snes or possibly the DS or gameboy pocket, its really hard for me to pick a favorite nintendo portable because I've been religiously buying them since the gameboy pocket.

Was the SNES more common in Brazil? I heard it was in the U.S but not sure about Brazil. Over here the Mega Drive was really common, I only knew a couple of people who actually owned a SNES. As a result, even the most common games for it are now ridiculously priced, shame as I actually did get a cheap console a while back. As for me I don't think I have a favorite console, one particular console isn't a stand out against the rest. If I had to pick, I'd go for the Gamecube. I loved that console, the fast load times, the controller, and the small but good selection of games for it. I still play it now and I still get use out of the gameboy player on it.

I love so many video game systems, even some that I havent played before. My favorite video game system which I've never played (but I really want to own) would have to be the turbografx 16 (or the PC Engine). The library to me seems incredible and I love the look of the system. I love shmups and this system has quite a few.

I was raised on nintendo so I have a great deal of love towards nintendo systems. I grew up mostly playing the n64 so my n64 collection and knowledge of the system is pretty large, but my all time favorite system would have to be a tie between the genesis and the super nintendo. Each system had their gems, and each system had their deal of junk too . The SNES rpg library was simply outstanding.

I think both Sega and Nintendo had a strong market here. Consoles from both companies sold very well, although Nintendo kind of abandoned the country after the Nintendo 64. Sega's older consoles (Master System and Mega Drive) are still sold here, although the demand is very low.

I'd also have to say that as fun as many consoles were, I've been a PC gamer from the very start and always will be!
