Which hero from a video game do you think sucks the most? Now, I don't mean literally sucking like Kirby or Luigi did with his vacuum, rather sucking as in being lame or stupid. :P So which video game protagonists are your least favorite?

My vote probably goes to Capt. Olimar from the Pikmin series. I just don't like him for enslaving Pikmin and abusing them for his own evil ends.

Any Final Fantasy hero who looks like a boy trying to look like a girl would get my vote. I hate JRPGs of any kind so don't flame me to death.

Also Duke Nukem. The Space marine in Quake/Doom. The Necromancer in Diablo 2. Jaheira and Kahlid in Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 (although Kahlid was killed by Jon Irenicus in BG2, yay).

I know what about a hero whos games suck the most, so maybe Superman, they call it the superman curse right, I know how bad the 64 game was.

All super-hero games suck. I can't think of one good one except Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I also think all the Spiderman games are useless but I have very high standards.

Not all of them, epcept for Spidey and Superman for the N64 and Iron Man for the DS (that was hard as sh*t!)

My personal pick are mostly the Star Wars games for the N64, none of them let you go into space.

What about battle for Naboo, that was space, I can't remember about Rogue Squadren though, but I used to play Podraceing all the time, that was one of my favirouts and I don't like a lot raceing games.

edit: oh yeah and there was another starwars game, you did things like take ATAT on Hoth and fight that droid bounty hunter you see in the movie. There was a level that you had to shoot from the melenium falcon or something simular at ships or meteors, and a level where I think you had to take out some sort of space weapon.

Wasn't Rogue Squadron on Gamecube?

@corroonb - I like most of the FF games from back when Squaresoft were nothing to do with Enix, but the 'heroes' in the newer ones have been overboard on the whingey boringness. If you're making me pick one, though Tidus wins on 'whingey', Vaan wins on 'boring'. At least Cloud had the decency to keep his mouth shut most of the time... :P

Edited for idiocy

Ah. I stand corrected. :) Apparently my editing skills weren't enough to take care of all the idiocy in my above post.

He was cool in some ways, but his overall concept wasn't exactly heroic - Tommy Vercetti, in [i]Grand Theft Auto: Vice City[i]. He was a psychotic convicted murderer, a drug dealer, a pimp, and a thief - and he was the [i]hero[i]. He also couldn't swim - hit a car wrong while speeding across a bridge fleeing police or chasing someone, go flying into the water, and poor Tommy was dead, with no possible way of saving himself. (And the game was cruel enough to make you sit there and watch while Tommy's health plummeted...)

- Raiden from MGS2. Only reason he was bearable in MGS4 was because he was having the crap kicked out of him and his annoying girlfriend had left him.
- Dante AND Nero. People complained about there being a new character but both are equally annoying.
- Any FPS protagonist except Gordon Freeman.
- Squall from FF8. Cloud almost wins it but unlike Squall he actually has something resembling a personality.

Think about what you just said for a moment... you've insulted everyone who plays FPS games.

Does Strauss even count as a "hero"? I thought he was just an a-hole supporting character who you have to put up with because he's on your side and knows how to fight the Strogg blah blah. Some of his comments were really funny, though, and Peter Stormare did a good job with his voice.

I can't beleive no one mentioned GLOVER. He's a freaking GLOVE. Although I need to give the game credit for being unexpectedly good and ridiculously trippy.
