We all know what immersion is. Immersion is how deeply you can get into a game, and how much you can lose yourself in the experience of playing it.

What games can you think of where any chance of immersion fell to it's knees with an audible clunk?

I have had a few, but the only one I can think up of at the moment was the 360 game of piraes of the carrabien, some of the movy ones are the worst.

This is going to be a controversial one, as I know how popular this game is, but for me? Okami.

I find it lacks something, like a layer is missing- the emotional one, for me. And, call me a big old girly gamer, but I can't get really immersed in a game if I don't feel compelled to save the day.

It's strange, I find Japanese folklore and fairytale completely absorbing, I love them, but Okami just leaves me cold.

It's strange, I feel similar about Okami. I loved the art style, loved the setting, but couldn't get into the story or get emotionally invested in any of the characters at all. Maybe because Issun was a more annoying version of Navi and the wolf a silent protagonist who was also a god.

Oh, and Okami being popular? Maybe with critics. It barely sold anything, and was a commercial flop.

Any first person shooter that I have played from Duck hunt up to Quake 3. Gave them up since. May start back up with F.E.A.R.

And for me, it's any game that's NOT a first-person shooter.

I am with traveller011212, but I also don't connect to games like god of war, or any movie, TV show based game.

Sacred it was just continuous hack and slash with baddies reappearing in areas you had already cleared
Beyond Divinity just boring

Without using genre I will just name a title instead. "Operation Flashpoint" I still have the game, I just can't figure it out. I don't have problems with first person games, this one just annoys me, I will get it one day. Just need to get my gaming hat on

the gran turismo series. For some reason, they arent that great compared to Forza 2 or even PGR 3 and 4. The AI was stupid, there was no damage, and no online play
