I played it for a while and got bored. There's just not enough to do in it when compared to similar games.

I love Master of Orion & Galactic Civilizations, but I can't imagine that sort of gameplay translating well into realtime. There's just too much to do once you get several colonies up and running.

I'm playing the Voruk's Labyrinth map now, understandable in those multi-system maps with all the worm holes that force you oto divide your fleet into smaller pieces (I had to do that with 2 of my systems, as they tend to divide their fleets and attack 2 of my world). That, and 2 guys jumping me

The one map I play now is a custom map I made... very huge single-system map (we're talking hundreds of planets in this one star system), with very few lanes between planets. Everything is connected, but there's plenty of chokepoints to make it a very strategic game (and fun too if you're a turtle like me...)

the problems lies in a few things with the game

1) to little civs
2) no storyline (but a expansion will have some)
3)mods seem not work well with the game

mapeditor is on the homepage of the game

thank you, I have the map editor now; it's called Galaxy forge to others.

and you might have to update your game (as in patches).

Ahh yes the Novalith cannon... also known as "kill off the pirates without having to use your entire fleet"...

I usually like civ games (loved master of Orion) but for some reason, this one bored me fairly quickly. Great graphics, though.
