This isn't necessairly your favourite game, because a lot of games (pokemon, WOW, etc) are more cult favourites then a game that a lot of different kinds of people can enjoy. Even one of my favourites, Puzzle Quest, isn't on my list because I think only certain kinds of people would play

Clubhouse for the DS has 42 different card, board, and other types of games that has very good multiplay. The only problem with this game is that in some games, the computers are a bit easy and some of the poker games allow you to go negative and still play.
Picross 3d, also for the DS, is really good for anybody who likes puzzles! It's like minesweeper and sudoku combined in 3d. Not really for really casual players though, my mom just stared at me when I tried to get her to play XD

I can think of a lot more, but I want to see some of your suggestions first :)

Seconded. I'll add the caveat that the first time I tried it I gave up in frustration after a short while, because it's a real challenge to learn to play.

I'll recommend Red Faction: Guerilla and its wonderfully destructive gameplay for stress relief.

My top five recommendations:

  1. Sonic Colors (Wii, DS): A beautiful, highly polished version of the Unleashed day stages, but with 110% more platforming and poweups. (COMIN' SOON)
  2. Sonic 4: Ep 1(WiiWare, PSN, XBLA): The one classic Sonic to rule them all. (COMIN' SOON)
  3. Shantae (GBC): The de facto Citizen Kane of GameBoy (pre-Advance) games. Just buy it if you see it!
  4. Sonic Unleashed (PS3, X360): Sonic stops Dr. Eggman and an Earth demon that's determined to destroy everything. He transforms into a muscular, stretchy-armed werecreature at night, and helps the demon's counterpart restore his memory along the way.
  5. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii): Even if you haven't played 1, it's going to be awesome.

Basically any sports game from 2006. That year is basically the epitome of sports gaming; Madden 06, FIFA 06, NCAA Football 06, NHL 2K6, MVP 06 (not as good as 05, but still really fun). I would also recommend either of the UFC Undisputeds, but especially the 2010 one; it has a lot more features, especially the fight card mode. When I get a PS3 (preferably when I go to college), I'm getting it. It's a hekuva lot of fun.

Stronghold (build and defend a castle) and Planescape : Torment (a RPG when you play an immortal amnesic looking for his identity and his past).
