If The Locust From Gears Of War Were To Start A War With The Covenant From The Halo Series, Who Do You Belive Would Win? They Both Have The Power To Nearly Wipe Out Humanity, But Both Teams Have An Advantage. The Covenant Have Superior Vehicles (And Maybe Weaponry) , But The Locust Have The Ability To Take More Shots (Thick Skin, Big Armor). This Is My First Post And I Wanted To Make Something To Grab Attention.

The Covenant would wipe the floor with them, what might happen is that you would have covanant may first try to convert the Locust to the covenant, if that fails they would wipe them out. They dont even need to use soldiers, the covenant cariers can emit a beam that heats surfaces up to glass, the have been known to be able to glass an entire planet with hours to a day, starting at the polar and moving along. Though if they did fight on foot, most shields would be quite repelent of the locust weapons. One thing you should look at is that an entire army of ships of humans was taken out by only one Covenant, they would be smart enough to be wary of the ground, and would probably send shadows from the ship to attack. And I dont think that even the boomer or beserker could stand a good chance against a hunter, shields too strong for the guns, and guns too strong for even beserkers. and elites/brutes would still be quite stronger then grubs, the plasma from there guns can melt armour and plasma swords apparently on one occasion in a novel when being used sliced right through the shilds and through MC's armour (shoulder), and his is stronger then most of what locust have.

Well first there was the prophets who would fight with the elites, but then the elites for some reason joined the prophets who had evolved from a forruner planet, and the Covenant was formed. Also they picked up grunts for mass numbers, by large litter and quick growth from a methane planet, Jackels (dont know much about them), the Hunters are a series of worm like creature that joine together to multiply strength and inteligence, but after a small war as the covenant thought they were usueless were proved wrong and Hunters joined mainly for the space travel. Drones have a hive mind and belive the Covenant to be its queen, Brutes had a series of cival wars but joined for there brutality. One thing that often struck odd is why were the humans not invited, and that is because Medicant bias an AI which helped the flood attack the forruners had been damaged part of him on the ark the other in his ship. His ship became the homeworld of the covenant and Prophets looked at him as an oracle, he feeling guilty for what he had done decided to follow basic program and help the forruners when they returned. As soon as the Prophets showed him information about the humans he started acting eraticaly and said something along the lines of them being forruner, the prophets interpreted this to mean that they were not worthy of going on and decided that they had to be destroyed.
As a side note Medicant biased makes a mention in HAlo 2 when Cortana says there is a poerful presence in the webs of the holey city, and Medicant bias helps the chief and cortana out. He then hitches a ride on that foreruner ship the chief took to earth and later opens the gate. Once he opens the gate he gets onto the Ark and becomes fully functioning and helps the chief out where he can, infact if you find any of the terminals on the ark they are actualy messages from him. Especialy the last message found on the unfinished Halo, where sudenly it may go "you are not ready, not yet any way", also apparently he also makes an appology to chief on behalf of the foreruners.

"The elites "glassed" New Mombassa after the flood invasion using only a few ships. I have no doubt that their ships could do the same to underground life as well"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WOCGrQqHqg Click This Link It'll Show You Why The Locust Would Survive. If THey Could Withstand A Beam That Large, Followed By An Explosion Of Those Sizes, The Elites Might Just Cave In A Couple Places. Watch 0:30 To 0:40.

The remaining Elites from Halo 3 would win because Master Cheif and UNSC would possibly be their allies. Remember that the new Elites went against The Prophet of Truth and teamed up with UNSC. You'll know if you played Halo 3. I really think if they were able to defeat the Flood and masses of the Covenant army then they would win.

The Covenant Would definitely win.
They have better land forces (the locust have no tanks, only large creatures, and metal armor resists damage better than flesh and blood.)
They have air superiority. While nemacysts and reavers might be a problem for banshees, seraph fighters (like the one the Arbiter escapes in after killing the heretic leader) are shielded and better armored, and are armed with devastating plasma cannons, pulse lasers, and plasma charges.
The Covenant have spaceships, the locust don't, the Covies would just glass their planet.

Though they can cause mass damage to a planet leaveing it unlivable where the entire surface would be covered by just glass by intense heat, and will also burn up the atmosphere, ruining all the air supply. Though I will add that two spartins and Dr Halesy who were also on Reach on the attack survived but this was because there was something on reach they wanted. The best chance the locust would have would be able to ambush any camps which may be put up aswell as scarabs may have a difficult time going through Locust territory, I also might be a small problem if the covenant are unaware of the krill. Covenant have the air, Locus underground and maybe meet on the ground, forces may not even be released on the ground unless there is something they need to protect. So maybe we should pretend that the Covenant want to get hold of the Emulsion, which there are some theories that there is a conection to the secret of the Locust and emulsion show on this trailer for the first game.

That may mean there would be a bit of chasing each other, I would think best species to use would be drones for there abilities to be able to go through tunnels and able move all over the place. Also Jackel spotters would be helpfull some elites/brutes for good measure in firefights, and hunters against beserkers and boomers, and to fight against the reevers and corpsers (dinsour gun thing and godzila spider) I would think that scarabs in large landscapes would be a good measure. Banshees may have an advantage over many troops but would get killed easily by the nenisist.

The elites only joined up with the humans as they both wanted to stop the Covenant from killing everyone. But my thoughts were that in some ways the elites wanted revenge for there councilers that were killed by them, there was supposidly a cutscene that they didnt put in which showed the councilors being executed, remember Arbiter saying they were murderd by the brutes. The elites didnt even team up with the humans realy until they came to glass half of Africa, if you look at the book "ghosts of Onyx" at a part where the elites managed to overcome brutes in near the second halo. the elites slipspaced to a position that humans were on and the elites were still slaughtering them as they saw little reason in trusting them. The main combined was because the Arbiter vouched that he would fight with them. Also at the end of Halo 3 the elites return to Sanghelios (home planet) to see how it is doing, and to look after themselves.
Also by what I know the elites took on the brutes in ship to ship combat while the humans faught on the ground to find out what was happening. Smart move as Covenant ships are far superior to UNSC (read books and you see how exactly the are out done) and Humans can at least to fairly well on ground and they had Atby and Chief. As the elites were winning the battle as Elites are better piolets they started to send ships out as seen in that level where you go towards the center.

This answer from me has numerous reasons. One, its purely revival. 2, The locust have new vehicles types, new locust types and new weapons. And, i wanted to change subject from locust to Chimera.

Just thinking, now that it is shown that creatures like the Brumak and the Corpser are not incredibly minimal I think the Covenant might have a tough time fighting them on the ground. And weapons like the mortar would give the Covenant a hard time, especialy since the Covenent often put their teams in a nice circle when moveing.
