Not much of a fan. The avatar concept is pretty much a rip off of the Wii function. I like a lot of the new menus but I don't see anything wrong with the old Xbox interface. I do think the idea to copy games onto the HD to decrease load times was a good idea, though the instant I turned on Halo 3 I got a message telling me it was not good for the game to do it due to the fact that it has to run off the disk. So I expect alot of other games will have this issue and make the HD copy function rather useless for many games, though if every developer started making games more functional for running off the HD (I expect this will happen) then I suppose this will be cleared up eventually.

That's been a pretty good response so far.
Anyone else have one to post?

i like the NXE but i've got to say the Avatar customization is lacking, the wii's avatar customization is better but i dont think they can pull off what they did with their avatars as well as the xbox, and the saving the games to your hardrive is a waste of time and memory because the games will always run better from the disk and will be designed that way, for example if you saved halo to your harddrive you would have longer loading times, it will take longer to find matches and you will end up using huge ammounts of memory with the maps, screenshots and videos that you'll be downloading, that function is pretty much useless for now.

<< with that new function people could just rent out games or borrow them from friends and install them.. xbox really didn't think that function out. i agree about the memory issue aswell, it will probably be a good way of shortening your consoles life though O.o

now i think about it " xbox live arcade unplugged" and "sonic mega collection" (originally released on xbox but fully 360 compatible) should be able to play from the harddrive without any problems.

It's not that bad of an update. Plus, there are Community Games now, so that's a plus.
