I'm SOOOOO addicted to Spore - though I haven't had much time to play with school - but now school is out until January . . . I can't get past the civilization stage though. I've never been good at video games so it doesn't surprise me - this one is just so much fun!

I know what you mean! Civ stage is hard! But space stage is worth the wait! Waht is the names of some of your creatures?

Man I love Spore! I'd have to say that my favorite stages are of as follows.

Tribe<Civ<Creature<Space<Cell

I don't know why but I just can't get over the cell stage. If they could have a longer Cell stage I'd probably enjoy it a lot.

I have spore (though not currently playing it)... My spore name is ToadofSteel, and the only creation of any note that I've shared is the Dragochicken creature...

Space phase would have been my favorite, but it's incredibly repetitive after a while... Once I make it to the center of the galaxy I usually stop playing that particular game...

I'd agree with you, but I just discovered the joys of destroying an entire planet

I have Earlites and Frankites - the Earlites were first and they are stuck in civilization stage (we go and try to convert cities and they just blow our cars up) and the Frankites are at tribal stage . . . I think I like cell stage and creature stage the best - you can just sort of fart around and play and nothing bad happens - it seems like my problem with the Earlites in the civilization stage is that I didn't know what to do to convert the cities and they are now too 'strong' for my cars - or something . . .

By the way, the cell phone verison of Spore got me to buy the full computer version, but it gets really tedious after a while - it stays at the cell stage and you can't abandon your creation and start over without reloading the game. So I don't think that one is worth the money.

I love Spore. They need to put more into it though. I expect Maxis will release The Sims-style expansions with new features. What would I like to see?

1. WHY can the other civs all have little escort fighters/frigates that defend their main warships and you can't? I think your ship aught to have these too.
2. On that note, when you get attacked its by at least 5 or 6 groups of 1 warship with about 4 or 5 fighters. I think that since the AI has the ability to attack automatically, there should be a feature on your home planet where you can order constant attacks on enemies like this (at the cost of some spore bucks)
3. A 'black hole' view on the galaxy map that shows your all the paths of black holes you have traversed, so the problem of getting lost is negated (though religious civs don't have this problem)
4. Mega structures! Imagine being able to build Dyson Spheres or Alderson disks. That would be badass though probably unlikely
5. They already have the planet buster which is awesome. I'd like to see something capable of destroying stars though!
6. On the topic of mega structures, if you could build a network of wormhole-gates that act in the same way as black holes but you create the entrance and exit point, it would definitely facilitate travel
7. I think that during the Civ stage they should make it possible to be invaded by alien civs. Sometimes you see UFO's but they never really interact other then scanning or abducting. Personally I always go around destroying Industrial-era civs when I am in the Space stage and I think it would make the gameplay interesting to have to deal with this (maybe only on the harder difficulties though)

I dunno, I probably have other ideas I can't think of. Anyone got any thoughts?

The Earlites had a domestic animal stolen from them by a UFO in the tribal stage one time . . . they were quite upset by it . . .

Make an alliance and then you can get a little ship to follow you. The amount of ships you can have follow you is dependent on your level (bar at the bottom while playing) and you get one ship per one allied empire. I believe you can have five (or six, I forget) ships with you at the omnipotent level.

One thing I wish you could do in the space stage is go into an RTS-like setting, controlling multiple ships, since the one just doesn't cut it to be honest...

The choice to go to war like that would be most awesome. Make different ships with specific stats and have a battle map to move them around would be a dream come true.

Ehh. I played SPORE non-stop when it first came out, but it's now been sitting on my shelf for ages and hasn't been touched. I could play the cell and creature stage for hours over and over, maybe even the tribal. But the other stages I didn't find that enjoyable and the game got old fairly fast. I think they could have made the game better.

I was really disappointed in the game. Other than the actual creation which I don't enjoy that much the game really lacks depth.

Wow, I didnt expect so many responces! 8) What I think this game needs is new achevements, and they already have an expansion pack called "Creepy and Cute Parts Pack" and they also have a few "paches" you can download for free that either fix gliches or add new mini-features. :alien:

Yeah, but I find Allied ships get killed quite fast. If you could design your escorts and upgrade them accordingly this would be far superior
