One of my favorite games when I was younger was Final Fantasy Tactics. One of the problems with it is that it is kind of easy, and several things are over powered (ie: brave/faith modding, monks, calculators, deleveling, T.G. Cid).

I was recently pleasantly surprised to realize that there was a user made patch that updated its difficulty and balanced a lot of game play mechanics. There is even a thriving community working on "Final Fantasy Hacktics v1.3"!

So I loaded the Play Station emulator EPSXE onto my gaming rig (twelve hundred frames per second lawl), patched a FFT iso, and was ready to go. It was hellishly fun! I put my team on auto-battle (AI-controlled) mode during the first battle, and LOST. So I tried it again manually controlled, and still lost. Next try I wouldv'e won, but one of my units that I wanted to hold onto perma-died, so I tried once more and was victorious.

I haven't played a video game this fun and challenging in what feels like forever. Does anyone else here play FFT1.3 or other modded retro games?

Here is a link to the forums: FFT 1.3 Forums. Also note that there are hundreds of youtube videos on the subject.

I own the Final Fantasy Tactics remake for PSP.

Is there a good hack for this version? My PSP has CF 3.90 M33

Yes the same hack is available for FFT:WOTL on the PSP.

I do not have a PSP but hear that many new things were added in that version, and thus lament the absence of a PSP emulator.
