This was a rather good game imo. It's online play was a little lacking, but the single player was interesting.

Also a good game. I'm more of a chess fan myself though. Or maybe Stratego.
One game I always tried to get my friends to play that they never would was Bullet Witch(Xbox 360). It definitely didin't live up to its potential, but it was still a pretty good game.
Another one is Sword of Vermillion(Genesis). I still consider it to be one of the best RPGs ever. Although I might be biased because its the first RPG I ever played.
And last, but certainly not least, is Vultures Claw(PC). I have yet to get anybody to play it. Nobody seems to be able to get passed the graphics. I dunno. They aren't THAT bad. Its just 2D isometric graphics trying to look 3D(and failing, I'll admit). But its free and has more depth then any game I've ever played. If you think you can look past the graphics and see the gameplay, give it a shot.
http://downloads.usrsrc.org/vultures/2. ... in32-1.exe It's free, how can you go wrong?
