Hope that subject line got someone's attention. Now that I have-Is anyone else really looking forward to playing the Sims 3?

Have you been to the website? http://www.thesims3.com/ The link was added for convenience of the reader. Can you tell that I am pschyed up about this whole thing?

Will anyone else join the site? Honestly the reason I am asking this is because I have noticed that people on the Sims 2 kind of know other players and will greet them on the BBS. I know that would never happen with me, or probably any typical Aspie. Could you let me know if you sign up for the site so I can look for your name on the BBS. All of this does seem to me to be very childish but I feel as though this could a "nothing ventured, nothing gained" kind of situation. So what the hell I tried.

Also I'd like to trade notes with people about the game from this site. If you have the game, planning on getting it, waiting for it, etc. let me know.

I am just waiting for the game to forwarded to me from my previous address.

irene :D

Yes, i'm going to play it (if i have the money to buy it, but i can wait 1-2 months).

I went past a store a day or two and saw some item sets and expansions for Sims 2 for a REALLY low price, but i decided that i should wait for S3 instead. S2 is good, but i rather have S3 to play with.

I like the "Focus more on what is going on in their life" instead of having to send them to the bathroom every 5 minutes - that is just stupid and taking a wizz in S2 takes a bloody HOUR :P

I read that they had given up on that activation crap after Spore winning the award for "Most copied game ever" and are just using the regular Disk-Check. Maby they realised that the consumer want to OWN the game when they pay for it and should be able to install it as many times they want. Now, i have only used 2 Spore activations, but still... if i want to play a game on an old puter in 5-10 years time, i should be able to, i paid for the f-ing game.

I'm waiting for the mail to come with it. it is very frustrating. The cat is sitting and staring out the front door. I can only assume she is as excited as I am....

The thing I'm most excited about is them getting rid of loading screens. Those thing would take an average of 5-6 minutes to finish up on my old computer. I eventually stopped leaving the house for fear of those screens.

I also like the idea of personality traits replacing those sliders from the first two games. My characters always ended up being very similar using them.

I've already started designing a house, and I can't wait to see how the build and buy modes have shaped up.

I picked it up today. One of the big changes I like is you can now choose traits for your sims. One of the traits is loner. You accually are content and happy staying in and doing what you want to do. You gain happiness points for it.

In the first two sims games you HAD to go out and socialize with other sims to keep yourself in a happy mood. I don't like it when games force you to play a certin way. Not anymore. I can make a sim of myself and be happy in the game.

The fact that the Sims 3 is released tomorrow has got me in a really bad mood, since I have been waiting desperately to play it but now I don't have a computer to play it on x_x;;

I got it yesterday! My DH bought it for me to surprise me. He left it sitting on my keyboard, and when I got home from a wretched shopping trip almost in tears, there it was waiting for me! Usually I don't like surprises, but this was great. :D

I read a lot of criticisms about it online, and while many of them are valid, I can tell that I am going to have a LOT of fun with it. I really, really love how you can chose traits now!

I really liked that addition, too. Before, in Sims 2, I just liked making the houses and would rarely play the actual game because of all the forced socialization. Now my Sim is actually like me and sits in his house all day and his social meter is always full. It's actually fun to play now.
