Ok, I know I'm not the only serious Christian on the board but it often seams that way. I just want to get an idea of how many of us there are and if you feel comfortable talking about your beliefs on this board.

Personally, I avoid posting on my faith (it's not a religion) here for the simple reason that the topic I wish to discuss is generally ignored while the non-christian members of the board post continuouslty about how stupid the idea of God is or how wrong we are, etc.

Anyway, please speak up if you feel comfortable doing so... I would really like to meet more christians from this board. I am a member of a "non-denominational" church (which is kinda it's own denomination in some ways), but I really don't care what denomination you are from we still belive in the same God who loved the world enough to send his only son to die for us, and that fact alone should be enough to unite us...

To the non-christians (or those who claim ["claim" not suggesting they aren't truely atheists it's just a word] to be atheists)... I know many of you have strong beliefs about the existence (or non-existence) of God and you refuse to be convinced otherwise... that is fine. However, I just ask that at the very least you leave this thread alone unless you intend to be nice. I respect your opinions and I've heard them but they can be really offensive at times. For me at least, my relationship with God is an important part of my life... there is no doubt in my mind of his existence because without him I would never have made it this far in college as easily as I have. And I hope that you can respect that.

I'm a Christian, and my faith is a matter between me and my Lord.

I'm one of those who'd rather pray in a closet than on a street corner.

I respect that, but for clarification... All I really want is to find people who share my faith and my disorder becuase for me at least the two are closely intwined and I believe talking to other christian aspies could provide encouragement and fellowship... which Christ also emphasized. I don't go around shoving my faith down the throat of others, nor do I seek the praise of man by trying appear righteous, because that achieves nothing.

What a nice and respectful thread.

I am not a Christian but I hope you find friends here that are. I understand how this forum could be an oppressive place for people who are believers to post, and I'm sorry it is that way. In an ideal world, all people of every belief (and non-belief) could have respect and tolerance for those who believe something different.

I am agnostic, but that doesn't mean I can't find beauty and solace in the world's religions.

There are a few Christians here. I'm not one.
Ragtime and IAmNotAParakeet come to mind as examples of two members who are Christians and quite serious about it.

I think part of the reason I don't want to be "cured" is because I'm at least partially convinced that God made us this way for a reason, possibly evolving humanity to the next level - not breeding as much because of world overpopulation and destruction of resources, more highly intelligent, less social...like a potter, with just the touch of a fingertip, changes and improves the work on his wheel.

YMMV.

me too. I was brought up Presbyterian, but haven't gone to church for years. I don't like the effeminite left wing-pinko type of ministers we seem to have here now. (call me a red-neck - lol). I enjoy reading Martin Luther. Have read the Koran (was interested to see what Muslims believe).

I usually keep my beliefs to myself, but I posted recently in "Is it sinful to have Sunday brunch" because I hate the idea of someone being made to feel bad by minority extreme views.

i think theres a passage that says Jesus prefers we keep our faith in private and not flaunt it all over the public.

inclined to agree with you; reading about the "therapeutae", ( and philo, sophia, and the buddhist missionaries of the last 3 centuries BC.). Very interesting. All those people living in seclusion, in separate hermitages, away from noise, with peaceful rituals, and restricted diets.

Hi Krista,

I'm a Christian too (Lutheran), and a recently diagnosed aspie. I moderate a Christian discussion forum too, but unfortunately it's in Danish.
