All types of government do income leveling. They're called taxes. A taxation system within a democratic government doesn't sound that odd to me.

But income levelling is not the primary motivation behind income tax in the West.
And I'd be in favour of lower taxes anyway.

A truly communist government assigns all jobs, makes sure everyone earns the same, and suppresses anyone who tries to change their lot in life.

No. In a truly communist country, peeple can do what they want and are good at, just like in a capitalist country. the goverment only makes sure they dont get paid any less than anyone else, or have any less privalages than anyone else. And the way this wood ACTAULLY work, is if the goverment ARE the peeple.

That's not logical. If no one is getting paid less than anyone else, then everyone must be getting the same pay!

What side do you take when there is industrial action? hmm. Let me guess............

As somebody who is not a rich and powerful businessman, I would be inclined to take the side of the strikers.

The point is moot, since industrial action is all-but abolished (or we never hear about it in the media - wonder why?). It seems that industrial action are dirty words, even while some sections of the super-rich are lining their pockets with unconscionable wealth.

Yes, evryone getting the same pay is one of the most basic principles of communism. Hows it not logical?

taht dosent make the point moot, it makes the point even more valid - we need to fight to win back our democracy, whether democratically or physically...

You can't possibly have communism without stealing the property of people. Stealing is wrong. Therefore Communism is inherently evil and there is just no other way around it.

Communism is or rather was the most evil and murderous ideology imposed on man.20 million Christians were exterminated in the socialist gulags.
I am proud to be one of the few Europeans who held the line against the Beast in the eighties.
As Patrick Henry said `Give me Liberty or give me Death!`.

Stealing is not inherantly evil becos theres nothing basic morality that says some people shoud have more than others.

Stealing from someone who has LESS than you IS dispiccable, however (something a lot of major corporations have been known to do, so how can you defend capitalism based on the idea of stealing being wrong?)

The basic idea of Communism does not involve extermination of ANYONE. The Soviet Union did that, but that doesnt mean it has to be done by any Communist country (in fact a truly communist government woodnt dream of doing anything like that becos one of the main pillars of communism is that everyone is equal, so holding prejudice against someone for their religion is anti-communist)

Yes, the classic American success story...

What the typical capitalist does NOT point out is the classic American FALIURE story - living in the gutter.

It seems to me that Democracy is a form of government, while Socialism is a form of economics. Europe is still Democratic, but becoming more Socialistic.

I support both Democracy (as opposed to dictatorship) and Socialism (as opposed to Capitalism.)

So we throw out Communism. I say let's change, instead. I know, we won't, which is why we will soon become extinct.

You could also say that the Third Reich was not a TRULY National Socialist country and that Hitler was not real Nazi like Strasser
for instance, who did not support war against Russia or the Eastern bloc.

It depends what you mean by Nazi. The Nazis were the only example of Nazis we have, and their philosophy is the only example of Nazi philosophy we have, but Hitler was quite obviously NOT a true National Socialist.

So there's not much point to striving to accomplish more than anyone else, since there's no benefit to it -- people will just get ripped off. Then again, I bet it'd be nice to sit back and wait for others to do work so I could steal their rewards.

Hey, wait a minute...

It may not be the "right" one, but it's the human one. If you're going to try to govern people under a system that demands altruism, you'd might as well start yelling fire in crowded movie theaters as well. It'll all end up the same.
