Want to know if there any tea-baggers in here? A lot of the people that I have seen on TV are morons.

However, I would expect an autistic person to be very logical in their reasoning and so have some good reason why they are tea-bagger.

This country is going into the looney bin. I heard once that autistic people are the next stage of evolution, but our social skills have not developed to the point where we can take over and dominate the world. Maybe, that day will have happen, but in a far, distant future.

The term tea bagger was used by the media to tease these people knowing they would not know it refers to a sexual act. I only know what it means because of the handful of times I've watched Sex and the City. As I recall that was one of Dubya's nicknames for a member of his inner circle. People believe what they want to believe, despite the facts. This latest "czar" thing is so effing ridiculous I'm beginning to think we are a truly ignorant nation.

Since Nixon, presidents have had these advisers tasked with specific issues and these have been dubbed "Czars". There have been more and more of them over the years. Now, the issue seems to be that as they are not cabinet secretaries, they are not grilled by Congress and this is an example of expanding executive power. The Right has seized on this with Obama and are somehow claiming this as proof of communism because you see, Czars, Soviets... only that the Soviets shot the Czar!

The Czars in the end have no power. The President has the final word. The Right mentions this Van Jones person who was the "Green Jobs Czar" and they forced him to resign by digging up his past and this included associations with and identification with Communists and signing a petition calling for a new investigation into Sept 11 2001 events. (Of course many leading members of the Right over the years had been Communists too, by the way)... Van Jones was there to lend his expertise involved in green jobs, and this has nothing to do with his opinions on other issues and he had no actual power, he was just someone to help develop the president's position on green jobs with his expertise.

The Tea Party people are the John Birch Society all over again.

Obama has repeatedly stated he will not raise taxes for the middle class and he is keeping his promise.

To rebel against a tax increase is like rebelling against the abominable snowman. It is a ridiculous thing to do. It's also been documented that rumors fly like crazy at those things. So much of it is rumor and not grounded in what is exactly going on. The Obama admin has to do much stupid rumor control it is hard to get things done.

You can't fight progress. We've got to catch up to the rest of the world in healthcare. We lost more people to not having insurance than drunk driving and homicide combined. This is not an ideal country in that regard. We pay 2x what is paid in the UK for healthcare and we have 2x the incidence of heart attack and stroke. This is from a recent medline.com article.

The conservative party is in it's death throes. That is why it is so vocal. Nobody cares about tea parties/bagging but them.

Apparently, the nickname "Teabaggers" had actually been adopted by some of the Tea Party folks themselves, only to be abandoned when they began getting teased about it. (At that point, of course, it became the fault of the Lib'ral Media(tm), because they themselves are beyond reproach). Now they prefer "Tea Partier", which for those of us who actually read Alice's Adventures In Wonderland is even funnier (I wonder whether they prefer to think of themselves as the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, or the ever-snoozing Dormouse?).

The Republican party is not in it's death throes and actually stands to gain congressional seats in the 2010 election (this isn't just my opinon, I saw it in a news article and it wasn't fox). My dad once compared politics to a pendelum; if it swings one way it will eventually swing the other. If it swings hard one one way it will swing hard the other. The political pendelum swung hard to the left with the Cinton adminstration, swung a little to the right in '94 with the Republicans regaining power in congress, continued to swing to the far right with the Bush administration, swung to the far left with Obama and a Democratic congress, and will eventually swing to the right again.

Funny, what happened to "Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism"?

And anyone too moronic to realise that "tea-party" refers to the Boston event of 1773 needs to go back to school and try learning some of your own country's history.

Is there free speech in America? If so, then why can't people gather to protest Govt policy and raise questions at TownHalls?

The Dems were comfortable with the idea for 8 years before November 2008. Now, the same people are calling anyone who protest their policies nazis, un-American and racist. Sounds more like elitist abuse, than reasoned debate.

Yes, their intention was to reference the Boston Tea Party. Somebody decided to have a little fun and refer to them as the teabaggers. You can look it up in the Urban Dictionary. There are all kinds of horrifying things in there. I think people are just wondering where all these people were when George Bush was using the Constitution for toilet paper the last 8 years.

actually, the hatters absorbed it through their skins, mostly. Maybe the tea partiers are whiffing too many magic marker fumes?
