I'm fairly certain that Cortes made up the claim that the Aztecs thought he was Quetzalcoatl. Any documents making this claim are Spanish....

EDIT: Also, I have never heard of the Inca having myths about the white man coming.

It wasn't in writing. Mayan glyphs and pottery paintings show bearded men. Most native Mayans nowadays don't grow facial hair. Most of the other men in glyphs didn't have beards. Only the gods and these images were made long before the Spaniards arrived. Could have been another native group that had at one time been Siberians or Solutrean culture Europeans that migrated at the end of the last glacial maximum and persisted until the early period in Mayan culture. These are fancy thoughts but we really don't know. All we know is that the bearded different men images are odd.

Cortez didn't report... it was usually Priests who did the writing, except for a few cases as in Cabeza de Vaca.

In our increasing iconoclastic world, why is anyone concerned about being "better" than anyone else? No one will bow down to you, anyway. Mastery of anything is fleeting, transient, an unhealthy obsession.

I agree with ruveyn's take about us being master race for the time being, mostly because we haven't encountered anyone who's better at killing us than our own selves :roll: .

my peruvian relatives also mention this one white god, but no details..

we need to re-think tho.

WHITE doesnt have to mean european. it can mean WHITE, as white-as-a-ghost, or white as in beaming light.
white as in divine.

Besides, if people were 100% caucasian, it would be easy to kill them all thanks to their low-diversity gene pool which wouldn't allow most of them to survive.
