I don't remember when I found out about it, I know it was quite some time after it actually happend though, well into the school year. It didn't faze me, as far as I was concerned it was just another news report about a horrible event in some far away land.

I still don't actually care, but since then I've learned to at least imagine what it might feel like to lose a loved one. The closest I've ever gotten to that was waking up and finding my dog had died in my bed.

Since most travelers on flying saucers have no official documentation the Bureau of immigration gets rid of them pretty quickly. Especially in Arizona.

...... Dude, really.... all those people who died.... children lost their parents, parents lost their children, friends lost friends, and you just don't care? I can't even be outraged, I'm just shocked.

The problem with things today is that people will always jump onto the bandwagon. 9/11 is exactly the right piece of hype that proves my point. You have ordinary US citizens involved, ordinary US citizens that witnessed it on the TV and people all around the world seeing it on the TV. They all do the same thing: shock, cry, anger, guilt. However, its all false. Its just their way of saying "I was there" or " This has deeply affected me, so now I am part of it. I don't care what anyone else says". Its called the Bandwagon Effect and it makes me sick. Viewing the footage, I saw loads of examples: people blubbering into the TV camera's, ordinary beat cops shouting and ordering people to make themselves look important and amateur camcorder scavengers adding their own commentaries: "Oh my God. I can't believe it. Oh the humanity, oh my God, God, God, God". Yeah pal, we get the message. Calm the Hell down. In actuality, 9/11 gave the bored US peasants something to get their excitement going. Now, its been over 7 years since 9/11. The bored US peasants are waiting for another 9/11 to happen. Then they can break out the camcorders and the champagne and celebrate another "cool day".

The same is happening with the UK financial crisis. True, people are affected, but that doesn't mean you have to join the race to see who can shout louder about it.

It didn't really faze me, because I was used to hearing about wars and violence on TV every day in places where I've never been and don't know anyone. That long list of places includes New York.

Unless you directly knew someone involved in the attacks, I don't understand the long-running public outrage. It was hardly as major or surprising an event as our sensationalistic media made it out to be.

yeah I saw the stuff and went "meh"

lol was so pissed they put that on instead of my favorite TV shows that were meant to be on kinda like I get pissed when they put crappy football or cricket on in place of what was meant to be on due to overtime and stuff

being Aspie gives me the logical mind that says watching 2 teams of idiots kick a ball around a field on a TV is stupid sports is only good if your playing cause its exercise

I honestly didn't care at all.

Might have had something to do with the fact that I was around seven at the time, had no relation to the US and was at that point very, very deep in my ADHD, so to speak.

Edit: Might be wise to add that I, many years later, was quite deeply moved when I first saw recordings from the events.

When you poke the hornets nest don't come crying to me when you get bitten , seriously i would have thought Americans would reflect and perhaps have learnt a lesson , seems not you don't even seem to know the difference between "justice" and revenge.

I would much rather save an animal than a human , one of the reasons I don't eat them or their secretions. :eew:

Do Americans cry for the Iraqis?

Surely not. Or not too many. What the American public should have learned (but didn't) was to take revenge on a large scale suffered.

The Roman had the right idea. Delenda Cartago est. Carthage must be Destroyed. It was said of the Romans that they make a Desolation and call it Victory.

I am sorry to say that on 911 I was not really aware of what was happening in the world. My own personal world was going to hell in a hand basket. I had just moved into an apartment for the first time in my life and on that day everything just seemed to go horribly wrong. First someone stole my wallet with my bank card and personal information cards after I accidentally left it by a pay phone in town. Then I could not get get any sleep that night. I was having a very bad time sleeping back then and the fact that a neighbor was blasting loud music on a cd that constantly stuttered didn't help. The next day I decide to go out and do some shopping or something to cheer myself up. Then a guy I once knew from school pulled up in his car next to me and started to harass me. First he told me how pretty I was because I had lost a lot of weight, and then she started telling lies to his friend in the car that we had sex together and I was his girlfriend. I kicked his car door shut before leaving. He yelled "Garfield's dead!" after me because I used to be obsessed with Garfield comics and all the other kids would scream that phrase over and over to me every day at school. But the worst was yet to come. When I came back to my apartment the guy who played his so-called music all night was sitting on the step. He must have drunk about 20 beers and he told me a sob story about his girlfriend dumping him. I told him about how I couldn't sleep last night and asked him to turn his cd player down. He wouldn't listen. This soon escalated into an argument that turned ugly when I held up my fists in a threatening position. He screamed "If you hit me I'm gonna have you arrested for assault!! !" Everything after that was like being in a bad dream. I went inside and he and his sister stated banging on my widow and cursing at me. The landlord was completely on his side. The police did nothing. My parents couldn't do anything because they were too far away. My whole body writhing with fear and anxiety I called the hospital. As the paramedics took me away the guy and his "sister" watched ans went NYA NYA NYA NYA NYAAAA like a couple of 10-year old bullies. Was it just a coincidence that all this was happening to me on 911???

I'm sorry you were having a bad time but thousands of people were jumping to their deaths and being burnt alive and a couple of the largest buildings in the city were crumbling into the street and I'm afraid my emotions lay in that direction.
