I might need a few more details to know exactly what you're talking about.

Politically-backed trade restrictions.

Yeah, I'm still gonna need a bit more. The embargo on Cuba? That hasn't been terribly devastating for the South.

Have you noticed that this is a very common hallucination among our partisan ideologues, Orwell? It doesn't seem to matter whether they're of the left or right either, it's like some sort of creepy mind meld...

I don't really have a problem with bias. Everyone with a strong opinion is going to have a bias. The problem is logical fallacies, including misleading and/or dishonestly selective presentation of information.

Maybe because I'm from here but I'd think Inuyasha is referring to the drilling moratorium.

If that's the case... you undoubtedly heard about the oil spill, right? I think it's pretty obvious that something was being done wrong, and we have to either stop drilling or figure out a safer way to do it.

Unless of course this is another of your tinfoil moments where GreenPeace and the secret Kenyan Muslim somehow staged the whole oil spill just to further their agenda which is based solely on spite towards the rich.

Mine or Inuyasha's? I think it was just corporate corner cutting. I've heard a few different things that were wrong in the project and it wouldn't surprise me if ALL of them were true (and maybe it took all the failures to lead to such a catastrophic failure?). Should there have been a moratorium? Yes. But it should have been to allow for full inspection of all rigs to ensure that guidelines are followed and to ensure that faulty parts aren't used (I've lately heard reports of the concrete Halliburton used being sub-par).

^Sorry, Inuyasha's. I should have made that more clear.

It's funny that you're going down the list of things democrats have done that hurt the economy. But no, it's none of what you mentioned yet. Keep going lol.

You mean like unfunded tax cuts for the wealthiest 8% of the country? The tax cuts that no respectable economist will back without significant funds telling him otherwise?

What list is this? The embargo on Cuba is supported much more by the GOP than by the Dems. And the oil drilling moratorium is sensible enough, at least until a better regulatory system is established to avoid disasters like the one we just recently had.

But help me out here. What "politically-backed trade restrictions" are you talking about that "defy federal court orders" and "ruin the economy of certain southern states?"

Who deems economists respectable? The New York Times?

Didn't the New York Times lose a lawsuit within the last year or so, specifically for committing slander.
