Some of the things on that site are questionable. Like their positions for Hitler and Stalin. Were they really rightwing and leftwing? I figure neither of them really gave a damn about rightwing or leftwing politics, they were basically just authoritarians and political doctrines were just a means for them to achieve and maintain power.

Nah. Despite the fact that we never hear anything about what they did besides start wars and kill people, Hitler and Stalin did in fact run their countries. Every now and again a college student writes a paper about how Hitler was "actually a pretty good guy" focusing on his domestic and economic policies. Depending on the college, he either gets expelled and then sues, or gets lauded and gets the college in trouble.

That test seems biased to the left, particularly on the left-right spectrum. I'm fairly right-wing, but when I took it I got branded a leftie!

I think I agree

I would have thought I was more economically "right" but more libertarian (except for strongly agreeing with the death penalty)

but this will "out" all the tree-huggers

The results were all in graphs which I can't read for the life of me so I know no more now than I did before I took the test.

A lot of the graphs there are useless. The numbers are more important. If you just looked for your numbers like the ones posted, it would tell you more.

No question the test is not fair. The way questions were worded like

....corporations should be allowed to do whatever they want.....(not a direct quote)
now very few people would support . Like maybe 1% of the population.

All question should be worded in such a way around 50% of the population might
support it.

Like this:

....free enterprise with limited government regulation is the most effecienct means to
increase the living standards of people....

I strongly agree with that. :D

Ok then, who is your greater political enemy: The authoritarian communist or the anarcho-capitalist?

Of course, 'authoritarian communist' is an oxymoron. However, I guess I dislike authoritarians who call themselves Communists more. They are more of a threat, as the AnCaps (another oxymoron, but bear with me) do not seem to me to have any chance of getting power and, to be honest, their political theory does not make much sense to me. The two situations that they point to as being closest to their ideal (medieval Iceland and parts of modern day Somalia) are both socieites that were before an industrial revolution, and were/are primarily agrarian. In the first example gunpowder was not even heard of! Of course, that is assuming that Marxist view that technology and material conditions define society.
