(Sorry, I meant this for the discussion and unknowinly sent it privately.)

Whew!! ! Are you sure that's true? I don't believe that all religions are like that and Islam is not, either.

Islam is a terrible religion as it encourages violence and terrorism.

Surprisingly, it's not the Qur'an that encourages terrorism. It must be some other Islamic sources.

ok, the only islamic "sources" that a muslim uses are the qur'an and authentic (read: authentic) ahadith (i.e. teachings of the prophet muhammed). any other "sources" are pulled out of extremists' asses, or people who couldn't find anything in the qur'an that makes it violent so they resort to making stuff up.

the qur'an specifically says, more than once, that violence (murder, torture, rape, etc.) and terrorism are forbidden and punishable by death and any muslim who uses these methods is automatically not a muslim anymore, because this is THE ultimate crime in islam. THE worst transgression against god.
prophet muhammed said that if you kill one person, it is as if you killed all the human race, and if you save one person it is as if you saved all of humanity. he also said that harming an animal, or harming a tree, is strictly forbidden. and those teachings are just off the top of my head.

the ONLY case in which a muslim's allowed to use violence without repercussion? -self defense
best kind of jihad, according to prophet muhammed? "speaking against an unjust ruler". egypt 2011- the dictator mubarak got kicked out, not one protestor used violence except in self defense. egypt population: 80 million. muslim population in egypt: over 70 million.

so how someone who has actually used unbiased and authentic sources can reach the conclusion that "islam is a terrible religion that encourages violence and terrorism" is beyond me. beyond any logical person who has their facts straight, actually.

(you'd think egyptian christians, jews, and atheists would've fled out long ago if they were living amongst those crazy evil violent "muslims", hmm?)

Well, if it's not any book, it's the conditioned mentality, I guess.

Very hard to miss the point when one is raised in a Middle Eastern Arab culture and realizes how violent one's thoughts and fantasies can be towards a certain country.

The Qur'an doesn't need to encourage terrorism as it was always there.

Tell that to my Muslim relatives in law who claim they're peaceful yet were praising their big hero Osama bin Laden during his prime days and hating on evil Satan America and Jews. Isn't that racism?

The Arab mind can be a very dangerous mind because it refuses to enter the 21st century. That's why Islam is dangerous. It's influenced by the Arab mentality.

The Qur'an is a cleverly devised book. No terrorism [directly] encouraged in it, but can easily justify it with the "right" interpretations. What's terrorism to USA and other countries could simply be interpreted by Arab haters as "self-defense" violence which is strongly encouraged in the Qur'an.

If you give me attention, I'll grow proud and disobey my God (attacking you).
Don't especially sound suprised, then you strengthen me by showing this weakness.
Right now you have done everything wrong!
But my God can correct that should it matter.
Don't talk about these things.
We really have nothing but murder of disbelievers to offer.

As a diagnosed Aspergers and being 95% correctly described (should we preclude the "errors" then i deem it 100%) I tell you that you need not fear my God if you do not disobey him. If you disobey him, you stand before an inevitable fact. Anyone who displeases my prophet is deemed to demise. We master all skills.

Salam

That's possible. Right?

If so Yashki Pundric should have first complained to a beth din (rabbinical court) for dealing with price gouging.

Was the Court getting a cut? What good would it do to take it to them if they're getting a cut?

Take a look at Unitarian Universalist. We are very welcoming toward anyone.

I had a wonderful, loving relationship with a U/U girl while in college. While SHE was a very open-minded, loving/lovable individual, U/Us are not guiltless when it comes to having a few of "those" in their congregations.

I attended her church once. I was doing ok until the sermon when the preacher starting spewing hate and talking about Christians being cannibalistic, vampiric zombie-worshippers. As it happens, I had the misfortune of showing up on "visitor's day." Well then, I'd hate to see what a regular Sunday is like!

[BTW: I don't at all think ALL U/Us are like that. I just don't think that particular leader represented the best of your church!]

UUs are generally nice folks but there's a tendency of being open towards every religion except Christianity. I went to an 'Easter' service once and absolutely nothing related to Christianity was mentioned at any point in the service which seemed to defeat the whole message about being welcoming towards all traditions.

Pretty much all religious groups will have some weird quirk like that. I've found it's best to avoid groups in general, whether they're political or religious or other.
