I fear the uncertainty of death and the pain of dying. I can see how people are certain about death, but how do people even manage to get over the fear of dying?

Death is inevitable and one of the few certainties in life. Why fear it? It comes sooner or later for all of us, young or old, sick or healthy; it is indiscriminate and inescapable.

I'm not afraid of death but I'm afraid of pain and injury. I'm more afraid of what could happen to me while I'm alive than when I'm dead.

When I was 8 or 9 two white demon ghosts stood behind me when I was asleep. One when to bite me. I raised both my arms and screamed.
I felt as though that was a near death experience. I was terrified of them ghosts. I think they was two women that used to sing with choir voices.

I didn't use to fear death. But now that I'm leaning more on the side of Athiesm than I used to (I'm Agnostic), I fear it. It's kind of silly, because I'm so young (22), but the idea of not existing scares the crap outta me. On the other hand, if there IS nothing after death, then I won't know about it anyway, so it won't matter.

I don't know whether I fear my own death, but I fear the death of others.

The idea of myself dying within the next ten seconds or so is less frightening to me than many other people dying within the next ten seconds, for example.

Not in the least. I've prayed for it many many times.

As others have said, im afraid of the process while still alive. I know where im going once its over.

couldnt have said it better myself. Funny thing is, my room only gets cleaned when im depressed, you know.... just in case. I wouldnt want to leave anything embarrassing behind

The only guarantee you have during life is that at some point, you will die. So I don't see the point in spending my time alive worrying about something I can't prevent. I do hope to live a long life though.
