Disband the NHS in that case.

Even worse, then we have no well of caring for heroin addicts. You can't simply legalise drugs without having the appropriate health support put in place as well, particularly the most deadly.

Plus the NHS is one of the best things about this country.

Oh nos, the gubment gonna lock me up 'cus my saliva!

I dunno much about salvia, but hallucinogens aren't addictive and don't seem as destructive as most other illicit drugs, so I say it ought to be legal. But I think that any adult ought to be able to go to pharmacy and buy nearly whatever they want without a prescription, so I'm crazy.

As far as heroin, I heard/read an interesting point once about it's toxicity: it actually isn't as toxic as most other drugs (save MJ). Drugs like methamphetamine (and barbituates in the 1950's-80's), and alcohol tend to burn out or kill people in less than 20 years, so the only kind of addicts you hear of who have been at it that long are junkies. Of course, there are still plenty of good reasons to avoid heroin.

I think basically all drugs should be legal....and drug addiction should be treated as a health issue, not a legal issue. I mean there is nothing morally wrong about using drugs even if it is just to get high and not for a medicinal purpose. To me getting high would be no different than someone drinking to get a little drunk which if anything is even encouraged in society.

But yeah they banned salvia in my state recently apparently.......don't really see why. I guess some kids who tried using it like cannabis had bad experiances? lol

Never heard of "salvia" before.

Had to learn from wiki about the "diviner's sage" that grows in Oaxaca.

It must be something like a certain brown drink I had at a party many years ago made from mescal. If you drank a huge volume of it you would hallucinate, but if just sipped the normal amount while chatting and sipping beer you just got a mild buzz.

Its niether a big threat to society, nor is it a holy cause to protect either.

I guess id rather have the authorities expend resources on stopping chrystal meth than on this relaltively benign herb from mexico.

Salvia was nothing like a brown drink. The experience was terrifying and thankfully short lived. I don't think anyone will make a habit of smoking salvia.

I've had a good experience with Salvie. It wasn't at all comfortable, but it taught me some important life lessons.

you can trip a lot harder and for a lot longer one otc drug that comes to mind....so....no it should not be illegal...

but i also believe all drugs should be legal...as the drug war is a war against the people...

people like to take drugs...that's not going to change....the drug war has not changed it and it never will.

many people self medicate and have fewer health problems then might be caused by some fda approved medications.

here's an alternate take on psychedelics: http://www.realitysandwich.com/serpents ... change_all

I used to smoke salvia d regularly over a period of a few months

i inexplicably developed half a dozen cavities in a matter of maybe 8 weeks

i think the damage done by intense psychedelics is as yet "unmapped"

this isnt meant as an argument against legalization however

i am against all criminalization of drugs

actually i am against criminalization
