An answer to Western "peaceniks" on Israel

I don't have any illusions that the current situation ever can be peaceful. The Israelis need to deport the palistinians and pay them generous reparations.
I (USA) would support a generous tax increase if the Israelis pledged to do this with our money.

The Palestinians will not take reparations. What they want the most are Dead Jews.

Problem is many of the first generations of displaced Palestinians are still alive. Second generation and third generations, have no citizenship if they go to a bordering country; they get thrown into refugee camps, with no intent to integrating them. So they stagnate in depressive camps. People BORN in these camps don't even get citizenship or a change to integrate in the country of location.
Being payed reparations does not psychically get them anywhere.

It's worth noting that all other countries have integrated their refugees. Many of the neighbouring Arab countries treat their Palestinian refugees like dirt, frankly, and are simply using them as a political weapon. They should have been fully integrated into their host countries long ago, much like Israel did with Jewish people who left or were forced/kicked out of countries where their ancestors had lived for thousands of years.

It looks like killing Jews is their only choice.

That kinda explains why Palestinians just won't melt into the neighboring Arab populations - because they know they'll be treated like dirt and used.

Surrounding Arab countries did that because they believed Israel would be temporary, and to show their support to the Palestinians that this would be temporary and not be defeatist. It is not per se treating the Palestinians as dirt, as much as 'believing their refugee status is temporary and not giving up on them'. Jordan's government in general can be considered a sell-out, as well as Saudi

You should look into how Palestinian refugees are treated in other countries, it's bad........but I get what you're saying, them not absorbing Pal refugees into their own populations as a sign of support, but I think they never thought they'd lose that 1948 war, and every war after that....it was 1967 that anyone ever started talking about "Palestinians" as a people who were displaced. I think they realized they had a weapon and a buffer between them and Israel. You have to take into account the attempts to destroy Israel, not get some land, but to actually destroy Israel, BEFORE all this land business.... The reason Israel is the bad guy changes over the years...it's always something new.
So when you say "to show their support to the Palestinians that this would be temporary and not be defeatist" you're right, but temporary means the existence of Israel.

That's why they need to be deported, to keep them out of range.

Those jangling keys get on your nerves, don't they.

I don't think I've ever heard of many Israeli politicians say that. Perhaps you could dredge up Meir Kahane or another odd Israeli MP, public figure or two.
By contrast, look at the bile broadcast every day by the Poor Palestinians and their Arab 'allies'.
