Two points: first, not all feminists are anti-prostitution. I'd personally like to see it legalized, regulated, and unionized.

Second, feminists are for equal *rights* between the *genders.* This seems obvious to me, but apparently some here are too obtuse to figure out that having the same rights as another person doesn't mean that you have to turn in your democratic credentials if you don't want to hang out with him or her.

bonus point: of course people want to date those they consider 'attractive,' but thankfully for most of us, not everyone considers the same thing attractive. Not everyone wants a tall, skinny woman with fake DD boobs and no education beyond high school, and not eveyone wants a giant football jock with a degree obtained through a football team waiver and so many head injuries that he can't speak in complete sentences. Many men like curvey, and many women like geek. Or whatever. My housemate likes quiet men with piercings and tattoos all over - not my type, not what most people would call 'alpha,' but it's what attracts her, and that's fine.

If taken to the extreme, that would mean when you date, you drive up in front of her house/apartment and honk for her to come out, show her how to work the door handle herself, go Dutch paying for dinner, a movie, and ice cream, and make it her turn to drive home!

...And everybody knows that the laws of physics change to accommodate affirmative action laws, so a grown man automatically becomes a foot shorter and 100lbs lighter when a female firefighter drags them out of burning building!

Don't pretend to be stupider than you are, ok? I prefer to go dutch, but when I try to pay, the men whine about how I'm 'emasculating' them. Sometimes I insist, sometimes I don't, depending on how hurt their feelings seem to be. I generally drive myself so that I can leave when I want' to. As for jobs with physical requirements, I would expect the same standards to be applied equally to male and female candidates, but to not have qualified female candidates not turned down solely because of their gender.

Now, that wasn't so hard, was it?

Normally, I would pay for a date. But I wouldn't be offended if she insisted on paying.

Liberal feminists want believe both genders are oppressed by gender roles. They fight for female orientated issues but also for male orientated issues, such as paternity rights.

Radical feminists blame all societies issues on oppression of women by men, and believe this is a deliberate policy.

Marxist Feminists believe women are oppressed to benefit capitalism, as they provide free childcare and household labour.

Make your own decision about which area makes the most sense, but not all feminists are the same. I don't like the term feminist, it suggests one genders struggles are more important than the others. I prefer equalist, but sadly it doesn't seem to have caught on yet. Not all feminists portray the bra burning b*tch that seems to be what we're viewed as.

No, it isn't anti-sex.

Its just anti-sex with men?

No, lesbians are the women who don't want to have sex with men. And asexual women.
I think you're a little confused.

So much of what is conveyed under the banner of feminism has nothing to do with the political struggle of which your definition addresses.
What you have set out in purely political terms has many times translated socially into an abhorrent disregard by women for men, their natures and their desires from women.

The real issue that wants be addressed honestly here is:
On what terms under feminism can both sexes have their needs of each other fulfilled?

As under feminism as I understand it, the focus is on the denial and suppression of all gender based needs.

It turns out to be told to trade in one's testicles for a handbag.

But you haven't addressed anything.

Could you please elaborate upon what you mean by "men's desires of women" and "each gender's needs of each other"?

Okay...
Are you a man or a woman?
Do you have and needs of any members of the opposite sex?

I am a woman. I don't have any needs that are dependent on anyone's sex.
You still haven't answered the actual question that I asked.

Because sex should be something done for mutual pleasure by people that actually want to do it, not as some sort of reward for good behavior.

Seems hard to get women's advice on how to turn them on though.

Seems hard to get women's advice on how to turn them on though.

since most women include 'honesty' in their list of masculine turn-ons (note that it's necessary, but not sufficient), giving men a list of things to falsely act out would be counterproductive. Also, other factors that are turn-ons vary widely from woman to woman. One physical aspect I like is pronounced canine teeth, but some people are so turned off by this that they have their teeth ground down by dentists (shudder). Some people find a gap between the front incisors very sexy; others get corrective braces to reduce or eliminate it. Just for a couple of examples.
