Without reading the OP, I think it helps keep the world population down and it keeps more kids from entering the foster system and orphanage and less kids get abused too.I would hate for a child to be born only to be abandoned and neglected and starved to death because the staff are too overwhelmed with taking care of unwanted kids and they are short staffed. They actually do this in China. I would also hate for a kid to be in foster care and never get adopted and they get RAD and have other issues. It also sucks how in other countries, most kids from orphanages end up in prison as adults. I would also hate for a kid to be born only for them to be abused because their mother resented them so much because they felt forced to having them and weren't allowed to have an abortion because of BS reasons such as religion or threatened to being disowned by family because they are against abortion.

These stories I hear make me support abortion and birth control.

I didn't know that about China. I remember they had a one-child policy for a long time, and the government favored boys, and would abort the girls. At least, I have heard.
.

No. It didn't work that way.

China had a strict one child policy. But "the government" didnt care about the gender. And the government did not do abortions. The government would impose carot and sticks to get you to have just one kid. But it was the parents who favored boys (because male heirs are favored in traditional Chinese culture). So if you are forced to have just one kid the parents themselves would want it to be the favored gender. THAT was the problem.

Parents used to abandon baby girls, there was a documentary about chinese orphanages called The Dying Rooms

I just looked up the stats, approx 7.5% of abortions are rape/birth defect/maternal health related.

Take birth control. It's so easy not to get pregnant. I have more contempt for fellow women who don't control their reproductive health. It's so odd to me that someone would risk getting pregnant when they know they wouldn't want to be. I'd much rather be inconvenienced by what birth control involves, instead of in a panic because of unplanned pregnancy. These people are just plain stupid, imo and shouldn't ever reproduce anyway. You don't get struck pregnant, like a bolt from the sky. There is a process.

True, but birth control can fail. Plus, if a man and a woman are having sex together without it being a rape, both of them have to pay mind to birth control.

It a woman's choice , and elderly right wing men have no moral right to say whether she can have one or not .

I was on it for 6 years, never a fail. I don't have a spy camera into someone's home, but I would be inclined to believe that the 'fail' was that someone failed to take their pill on a daily basis. And then failed to use foam and condoms for the rest of their cycle. Or failed to use foam and condoms after a prescription of Antibiotics throughout the rest of the month. I agree, after all. There are a lot of fails!

As far as the both sex responsibility, I was never inclined to leave it up to someone else. I'm the one who doesn't want to be pregnant. I can put my fate in the hands of another, but I wouldn't. It's not good business.

Before having me, my mother had an abortion on account of her birth control failing.

I have no doubt that birth control fails, I'm just not convinced it's the fault of the method. Based on my own personal 'anecdotal' evidence and the numerous examples of family, and friends who were family planning nurse practitioners (who also never got pregnant while on birth control), I'm more inclined to believe the user took a lackadaisical approach to following the directions rather than being given a dud pack of pills, or a bad implant, or a diluted shot (depo prevera). Given the potential complications of an IUD, I would consider this method as a potential culprit for any failed contraception. Why someone would chose it is beyond me. But the rest I listed, I trust. Just like a car, birth control is only as reliable as the user.

Another great example are the hypersexual mentally disabled individuals who never get pregnant. Their mother's don't want to be raising another kid, so they keep their appointments and administer that birth control like their lives depend on it. It works for them. But for some reason, there's always a few that say, "it doesn't work!"

I'm pro-choice, I don't support the state interfering with one's choice to either continue or to terminate a pregnancy, it's entirely up to the individual who is carrying and their healthcare providers.

Abortions are physically painful. No woman really enjoys getting an abortion.

I support abortion.

What do I think?

Why bring more children into this miserable overpopulated world?

You know what else really hurts?

Childbirth.

My body, my choice.
