One former member of WP was anti social distancing, and a climate denier, and a Young Earth Creationist. The three beliefs do seem to go together.

Many red states also have mask requirements. Texas, Arkansas and Alabama require them, and probably others as well. Louisiana and Kansas, though red states with mask requirements, have Democratic governors.

Are you talking about conservatives who oppose mask wearing? my understanding is that in the US the primary source of infection has been the lack of social distancing on public transport rather than not wearing masks.

Yes, I don't know any conservatives who believe in mask wearing. Instead all I have seen them do is whine and whine about their freedom being stripped away and acting like how oppressed they are.

I've seen the Karen videos of "conscientious objectors" being "turfed out" of stores for their arrogant insistence of their civil rights. It is rather entertaining.

Just be mindful that everytime you mention the aforementioned person in not so "glowing" terms that members of his fan club (who still reside on WP) will rush to the mods to report you.

Darn, I thought for a moment there were conservatives who believe in masks and this virus but only to be disappointed to hear they have democrats working for them. So close.

Yes. Thats why I said a "former member". I know...you're not supposed to talk about former members by name. Mae Culpa. But I speak of him as a stand in for many folks across the nation.

i think it depends on the reason for being anti masks ahaha.

kind of funny how everyone cries about their rights being infringed upon if someone suggests they shouldnt support animal agriculture, since yknow, so many diseases come from humans exploiting other animals. this pandemic most likely wouldnt have happened if humans had just, not been trying to farm and kill animals.

if everyone cared about preventing pandemics, theyd stop eating animal products and leave animals and their habitats alone.

go vegan or remain a hypocrite.

The funny thing is that both in East Asia and here, masks and social distancing make it possible to reopen economies despite no prospects of end of the pandemics.

Don't forget about the anti-evolutionists/young earthers. They're a bunch of anti-science nuts who fit the profile, too.

Idaho, the very conservative state which is of course next door to my own state of Washington, has been having demonstrations by rabid anti-maskers.

So aren't the anti-maskers going to get arrested for not wearing a mask?

Nope. In fact, I have yet to see any real evidence that anti-maskers do get arrested, save for when they throw a shitfit and attack others and destroy property when they're asked to wear a mask.

So they just get treated like "karens" when they walk into Wallmart?
