Evil is the product of the ability of humans to make abstract that which is concrete.

I just spent a moment trying to dissolve
some already dried concrete, and I can't
do it. I must have NO evil in me.

Run out of spit? Mine is rather acid, it works pretty well.

You'd need to believe there was such a thing as evil to begin with. After all, the statement does start with that word, it ended as soon as I saw the word evil. Never got to contemplate concrete, did that else where, and it hurts when I try to push my head through it.

Interesting aphorism! Sometimes people dedicated to an ideal, like helping the poor, care more about the promotion of their ideal than the poor people themselves. In such cases the poor are subsequently used and, in the end, are actually hurt more than they are helped. Therefore the abstract ideal obliterates the intended concrete action.

A rough quote from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (could be misquoted, and the names different, but wtf): Fact and truth are two completely different things; what we are dealing with here is fact, if you want truth, Mr Dawkins philosophy class is where you should be.

Thought it was an interesting statement.

How can philosophy be truth if there is no proof of it? Also, I don't blindly follow any human beings. Dawkins included. This Sam Hein guy is a genius though, I've pretty much agreed with everything he's said. And I like how he speaks with such a dark since of sarcasm, satire, and charisma.

Yes, or as Shakespeare said it first, Nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Ok, so if I decided to burn down your house, rape your mother, eat your children (if you've got any), and terrorize your family, it wouldn't be "evil" because "I didn't think it so"?

I think his point here was that people deny facts, usually to defend their ideologies, but often when these facts are denied publicly, some helpless victim ends up paying the bill for their irresponsible, bias attitudes.
