Descartes walked into a bar.
The bartender asked him what he was having.
"I don't know," replied Descartes, and disappeared.

Does it really even matter? He wrote so much more, but this is all anyone every really remembers about Descartes---and I bet a good majority of the people who use the quote even know who said it.

Kant is better. But no one ever quotes Kant.

That is irrelevant. His Critique of Pure Reason is probably one of the best works of philosophy ever written.
