its nice that your dad lives, and that your grateful for it.

if god is luck, or "good things" then sure god exists.

i dont see a correlation between that, and the creation of the universe tho.

is this topic about the existence of god, or your dads situation?

totally. You know how many hundreds of thousands of people suffer needlessly every day, die from their own hand or from an act of violence or an accident?

Tell me, where was "god" when that 11 year-old girl was kidnapped and raped repeatedly by her abductor? Probably gave birth to the kids on a dirt basement floor. Where was "god" then?

I'm glad your father is okay but it wasn't "god" who saved him. Blood clots, people bleeding are discovered by people. An imaginary being didn't have anything to do with it.

Good question. Yeah, is the topic title just a figure of speech (as in, very good luck because your father survived), or is this actually meant to be a point about the existance of God?

Oh yeah I'm totally convinced!! ! Not.

Where was God when 6 million Jews were gassed by the Nazis? They all had it coming? Is that it? Even children and babies?

And yes, which God are you referring to? Do you realize there are one billion muslims in the world, all of them wondering when YOU are going to get with the program and embrace the one true God Allah?

I'm glad that your father is alive. But please do not delude yourself. Give credit where credit is due: your father for having enough will and resolve not to go through with it, or whoever had helped him through this difficult time, be it a relative or a doctor or whoever. THAT'S who you should thank. Not an invisible man in the sky.

BTW, where is "heaven" exactly? Just above the airliners, but just below the Space Shuttle?

so...

your uncle gets no credit for this?

it frankly pisses me off when people thank god, and ignore the firemen. they thank god, and ignore the police officer who took a bullet for them. they thank jesus, and ignore the resque workers who pulled them out of the rubble.
jesus, god, jesus, god, what about giving real people some credit?

that IS ironic.
and if its supposed to represent further proof that god exists, then gods ways SURE are "mysterious"...

That's fabulous that your father is okay, but I really don't think this is any proof, or even particularly strong evidence, of a God. It's just good luck.

I find it contradictory that people give God credit for good things, yet when it comes to the negatives they say that God doesn't interfere.
