Can someone explain how Jesus was able to walk on water?

I have my theories (such as it was wintertime and it was very, very cold and the water was...err...ah...frozen) but that's just my preliminary look at the general question - how was Jesus able to walk on water?

Your views as to how Jesus did it?

By the way, apparently Moses went through a Sea of Reeds so I do understand part of that now...but I have not heard the Sea of Galilee being called the Sea of Reeds.

I suppose that we're looking for a reason other than:

A. Jesus created this world, and knows its physical properties.
B. Jesus is both fully human and fully spirit being (fully God) so who knows what form of that he was at that point. He appeared to the disciples as a ghost after death, so that makes total sense...if you can believe it is true.

If you made a world in a computer game, wouldn't it stand to reason that anything is possible for you, since you created the place? You could allow flight, water-walking, morphing people into goats, rabbits and other such things? God is the one who made earth. Our tiny minds can't hope to comprehend what God has built into this place. If you base this on that assumption, God made the matrix, and he jack with it all he wants to, including walking on water to get where he's going. Don't you think that the son of man would sit in traffic do you? Just a thought.

He gave all the disciples hallucinogens. He wasn't walking on water, they were just having a hallucination.

So Joshua of the Old Testament walked on the rocks to cross the River Jordan into the Promised Land.

Regarding Jesus Christ of the New Testament, I do not understand the description of Jesus Christ walking on the water at all other than an attempt by the writers of the New Testament (Christian comic book strip/whatever) to try to make Jesus Christ as different as possible from prophets like Moses, Elijah, and Joshua.

There appears to be a systematic attempt to allow Jesus Christ to perform miracles which outdo those reported in the Old Testament even if all laws of physics have to be momentarily forgotten in the interests of religious storytelling/writing religious commercials for the new religion known as Liberal Judaism as invented by the new Lord of Lords - Jesus Christ.

The story of walking on water was obviously inserted by a non-believer to cause believers to have doubts about the whole Jesus saga.

Because Jesus is God and God has control of the elements (water) and He can bend them to His comand any time he wants. Basicaly a miracle.

Some Asian religions believe Jesus was an avatar (someone who has the ability to control all the elements) if that's what you are trying to get across.

How did Jesus walk on water?
How did Moses part the Red Sea?
How did the sun stand still so that the Israelites could win the battle?

Easy!

Can anyone say "mythology" ?
Those things never happened.

The waterwalk topic

All metaphors. Many NTs really take the bible literally.

The Moonwalks by Michael Jackson and Neil Armstrong were real.

I am impressed by the video Takemitsu found. I would never have thought this could be done with human surface area to weight and power to weight ratios. I would love to see high speed footage from an underwater camera.

Translation fail? Its quite possible to take a walk ON a river or other watercourse and it only mean you walked beside it.
