Well? Has it?

Most of the posts on this site are about how god cured some random person's AS. Either they've all been hoodwinked, or there's some sick spammer/evangelical conversionist lurking about.

And if they're not about that, they're about republicans or democrats bashing each other, and it all goes downhill from there.

Not that these things aren't tolerable in moderation, but this is too much, and the sheer uniformity of most of these topics makes me sick to my stomach.

Somebody PLEASE prove me wrong.

Perhaps it has. The best way to fix that is to come up with something clever to post about. If people really find this forum to be bad then they won't mind having a better option to talk about. I assume you speak of this forum in particular, correct? If that is so then the political bashing of differing parties is simply a result of the fact that it is a political forum and with most of those that type of bashing is the accepted norm. The only issue that it is difficult to think of a clever thing to post about without reposting a previously done topic. I just ignore the religious cure threads.

I don't know I've had a few encounters with the conversionists on here, but I've definately met at least 10 people that made me think in ways I haven't before, give it a chance.. .

I get the impression that a lot of us tend to have similar ideas on the constructs of reality and sadly they aren't much to really go off on for great and interesting debates on the fundamental basis of what is and what isn't. Once in a while we'll get an interesting idea on psychology but yeah, lots and lots of political clamouring - then again politics is just one of those topics where people just won't agree, its too dependent on how you view humanity as a whole.

A lot of the people that were posting on this forum regularly back when I first found the forums a year or so ago, aren't here anymore. I know Sean was banned, but some of the others just seem to have left.

Though I think the board's generally gotten more hostile than it was. It started like that after the whole thing with RobertN getting suspended. Then most of the board started flaming emp after he'd make one of his anti-God topics, then I took it upon myself to browbeat all the anti-semitists that were popping up out of who knows where. I seem to have run them all off, for now at least.

I guess what I'm saying is, the change in the forum seems to be that a lot of the people who were best at the non-hostility-provoking thought-inducing posts aren't around anymore.

Its evolution those that are absolutely ruthless will be banned and those that are
oversenstive or do not like most the people here can walk away. Then your left with
those in the middle (90% I bet) who will remain.

I tend to get offended by the people trashing the forum and the people here. I do not
know the world you people live in but mine is of extreme isolation. I can not be
choosy as to the people I can chat with. My friends have been drug addicts, criminals,
nuts, ect in real life in the past. In other words an EMP is someone I can deal with because on the net (and likely in real life) he is better than my old friends in real life.

What you people call scum, morons, a$$e$, evil, non-thought provoaking I call the only
friends I got and I do not like people trashing my friends. Like what does the OP think about Werbert? If you do not like Werbert them is fighting words dude.

Wait, did you just call me your friend? It is unclear.

Politics is a topic that will naturally get people's hearts pumping. Sometimes I do get red-faced when I talk politics, but most of the time I try to keep my cool. For example, I might think that McJeff is a conservative a**, but I wouldn't flame him just for that. (Sorry, McJeff, but I had to use someone as an example.)

What do people want from this forum?? I mean, we can start a discussion on the meaning of life, on the aspects of ideologies, the nature of rights, etc. It just seems to me that nobody really has anything that they feel is important to discuss.

Probably because while many of us probably had some interest in formal philosophy or things like that in the past when we were trying to figure life out it kinds serves its purpose and then we just start feeling like anything over and above that which doesn't jive with our own grip on what's real or not just seems kinda wack and out there. Then again I think that's just most people - if your a truthseeker its nice to see your options on the table but still, once you feel you have it locked and especially if you don't work well from formal bodies of knowledge or tend to think that kind of organization itself tends to fry them and add lots of gibberish you know its time to just put it on a shelf and live life.

No I was just seeing if this guy was anti-Werbertist. In which case an army of Werbertist
will pounch on him like a pack of wolves on a bunny rabbit.

As far as people longing for deep meaningfull conversations remember aspies tend to be
obessed with their on thing. Hell I liked chemisty but still never talked about it much
with other chemisty majors. Which means that the odds of anyboy giving a d*mn about
anybodies deep thoughts of the meaning of life, etc is close to zero. If you find that
one person in a million then you guys feel free to IM each other. But in the other
99.99% of people here share your basic human needs and wants to live your lives
and have a few laughs.

TM1, we need to have a long, boring talk about our relationship.

And what is "OP?"
