It would be a much better place!

I wonder if some other destructively malleable religious force would have taken its place and bollixed things just the same? IMHO it is fatally flawed human nature itself that has ret*d our development and will cause civilization to collapse sooner rather than later.

It's going to turn out that way if something isn't done about Muslim Terrorists.

How many times does this topic comes by on wrong planet anyway. Because I remember responding to a different one.

I ask myself the same question about all of the Trump threads.

our kind of human has existed for about 250,000 years. Homo Sapiens became real smart about 15,000 years ago and started growing food instead of hunting for it. Christianity has been a world force for less than 2000 years, so human civilization managed to exist in the agricultural era for at least 13,000 years. Conclusion: Christianity is not necessary for humans to exist and even flourish.

Considering Trump is against the Pope, probably the most holy Christian on the planet, that is laughable.

He's against the head of the Catholic Church, which is insane. Then again, the majority of baptists and evangelicals I see from the United States (like those mega-church "pastors" who swindle money from gullible people to buy private jets) are tough to take seriously and not as a laughing joke.

Even if one or all religions disappeared, there would still be problems in the world.

There would still be conflicts over land and natural resources, and there would still be oppression within certain groups or tribes., and there would still be class warfare.

Nah. Christians will always be around. Along with muslims. However, containment of these religions is necessary for world peace because they have aggressive, expansionist tendencies.

Some other religion would of taken it's place, probably not all that different since most Christian traditions aren't even actually Christian.

You mean pretty much all of them? Aside from Lutheranism and Catholicism, I don't consider pretty much any of them to be "Christian".

But then we wouldn't have black metal, or the Diablo games, or Doom, or most horror movies. All of that cool fire and brimstone s**t had to come from somewhere.

Christianity is here to stay, like all forms of irrationality.

If Christianity goes away, there are alternatives. Better the devil that's been cowed by the Enlightenment and centuries of State enforced secularism.
