I can’t imagine why anyone would want to come to America right now. I guess just if they wanted to try to help clean up the huge mess it has become.

No. Our military is dysfunctional, which is fine for us. We provide mechanics and engineers for US imperialist war efforts in Iraq, and tell ourselves that that's not actually contributing to the war. Because, you know, the constitution given to us by Americans prohibits us from joining a war.

But that basically means that your police is better equipped than our army. Hell, even your civilians are armed to the teeth.

I think he means with guns wearing BDUs to liberate America from her own Nazis.

That’s a wrong perception that US citizens are “armed to the teeth.”

I don’t own a gun. I don’t even have a more than 4-inch knife. And I don’t know anybody who owns a guns or that sort of knife.

There are 101.x guns per 100 people in the USA.. 340,000,000 people & more guns than people - how is it an incorrect perception to suggest that Americans are armed to the teeth? :?

Because it is incorrect.

I’ve only seen one gun on a person (other than a rifle) in my 59 years.

In certain regions, gun ownership is more prevalent....but certainly not in urban/suburban areas of the Northeast.

This is not the Wild West.

Most Americans don’t want others to know they are armed—even if they are—unless they are hunting.

There is a “gun culture” in certain parts of the country.... but many people are not part of that culture.

Most people don’t carry handguns. It’s more prevalent for people to carry rifles for hunting in areas where hunting is part of the culture.

If people have guns, they keep them locked up.

They certainly don’t carry a gun to go shopping or something.

Americans as “gun-happy” people is a stereotype.

Just like loudness and arrogance are American stereotypes.

In my experience my fellow Americans tend to own either zero guns, or to own dozens of guns. So thats how it averages out to almost one per person.

I dont forsee Angela Merkel invading the US any time soon for any reason.

Many Americans take guns very seriously, and are for some sort of gun control.

Just like Americans should visit other countries to dispel stereotypes—non-Americans should visit the US to dispel stereotypes.

I'm well aware that the majority of Americans doesn't own guns. But the majority of Americans isn't what OP was talking about.

I'm regularly working with an American company. The people I've encountered are educated and curious and friendly. But they're not the people OP was talking about, either.

You said US civilians are “armed to the teeth.” I didn’t agree with that.
